we don't put Teddi anywhere, except where he has always been, In our hearts and in our memories. Much enjoyed.

if everyone thought this way the divorce rate would be way under 70% for first time marriages, far too many get married for all the wrong reasons, now excuse me while I comb my hair and put on the "duke"..., nice

we love to share, to be provocative in our thoughts and witty selves.... While some write to heal, to share or to send a message, others write to express, to relieve emotion and to "sort it all out" whatever the reason, keep doing the damn thing, but when posting within a forum it's only common courtesy to support one another because lord knows we have all been there at one point or time in our collective journeys.....I never read Shakespeare in hopes that he would read my work, but to learn and if he were alive I'd definitely give him a comment or two just to acknowledge that "I felt him".......Comments to me personally mean nothing, because I get my share elsewhere, but I have made a commitment to myself not to comment on anyone who posts within this forum that doesn't support the other writers within......Have a nice day.

Erased

Decayed stench from bitter remains
lie dormat within a tomb
a mother's tears fall effortlessly
upon the softness of a once filled womb

she sees his hair blowing about
in the comfort of a slight breeze
recalling those frantic nurturing moments
when her baby developed a tiny sneeze

a once proud man stands with slumped shoulders
unable to withstand the strain
his once tranquil world has collapsed
under the broken floodgates of pain

an etched stone speaks his son's last words
while ceremonies tell the story
of how he fought bravely for freedom
only to fall protecting "old glory"..

A child doesn't come into this world to go to war,
we teach them, train them, and in the end we bury them,
may GOD forgive us....Bob Shank

I spent a good part of my yesterday sitting in a court room watching
one after another get sentenced to jail time. The majority of these
people were young men, a few girls from 18 to 30. Most of these
jail times were for repeated drug offenses. I have seen many young
people come out of jail with no change... including my own son.
To me it just makes sense to put the money into rehab and fix the
problem , not just put a band aid on it. The money that is spent
housing drug addicts could go to centers that many actually change
their lives...not all of course. Jail is for punishment, not rehab
I understand. However these are the young who will be the majority
of our society..would it not make more sense to help them with their
addictions than to punish...?

^I could write a book on this subject, but I'll spare you the details, anyhow prisons are nothing less than warehouses of human flesh these days, and many have even been privatized which is a huge problem because the companies that own them aren't interested in rehabilitation, only numbers and keeping the cells full because that's where they make their money....The sad thing is that many are going to prison for petty stuff and just sitting around learning nothing but negativety and by the time they get out they are so bitter towards society that they end up killing someone or their pernicious behavior esculates to a degree where they can not fit in in a normal society....I love what Red said in the "shawshank Redemption" to the parole board,

Red: Rehabilitated?
Well now, let's see.
You know, I don't have any idea what that word means.
1967 Parole Hearings Man: Well, it means you are ready to rejoin society...
Red: I know what you think it means sonny.
Red: To me it's just a made-up word
Red: A politician's word; so, young fellows like yourself wear a suit and a tie

and that's about the size of it

It's not been moved because it's a simple question. It's not a political debate, nor a moral one

^thank you, ha ha....at least my site isn't the only one that has it's mods policed, this was funny.....

back to topic, you're right it's not my business what you do with your body, I'm a motorcyclist and I hate wearing a helmet (I never was too bright), but I carry a do not resussitate card and much insurance therefore nobody has to foot the bill, but when mass abortions are performed and tax dollars pay for them, then the tax payerr has a right to be heard, don't you think....

oops forgot...the best advice I ever received while writing poetry was to cut down on the over usage of filler words, I can't believe how much it has enhanced my writing and tightened it up a tad.

also Never use more than two "I's" in a poem, the reader isn't stupid, they can gather that it's first person after the initial I...by using too many it ends up being an I sore:(

So 2 questions and not just for you specifically, of course. If there was a chemical birth control for men, would you take it?

Personally I don't believe in birth control, but if I couldn't support a child or it was a mutual agreement to wait, then yes

If, in order to save the life of a fetus, and science was such that you could carry a baby to term, would you?

without a doubt and proudly, but not when I played basketball or boxed:)

I don't get angry in discussion, because everyone has a right to their opinions and that should be respected by all, that's what forums are intended for as long as it's done within the framework of this site.

as to the bumper pumper, you're right, but does one bad decision justify another...hmmm, and it may just be that the man is irresponsible, but who suffers, surely not him, but the child and yes as far as I'm concerned it is a living foundation to a child regardless of the month......But it's a never ending argument...which has its pros and cons, and as long as it continues to be legal who am I to say otherwise, but I'll keep voting against it as is my right......

which is my point exactly , as a birth control method, and as to the numbers, apparently you live no where near a big inner city where many have multiple abortions and they are paid for by the state and who foots that bill. Tax payers.

I think people should mind their own business. : )

^really, not when over 70 percent of abortions are being done as a means of birth control and the tax payer foots the bill....

I've always had a problem with the decision process of it, yes the woman carries the child and along with it the majority of the burden, but does it not take two to make the child, therefore shouldn't the decision involve the other person as well...Now the argument is, where are they during the process, half of them don't know, the other half either don't care or support the decision, but what of the one who may want the child.....hmmmmm

In essence from the moment of conception the fetus becomes a living organism, if something is living and you kill it, what have you done.......Then we get to the argument of rapes, molestations and incest, or the child may be developmentally disabled.....so now we are to pick and choose who we bring into the world, sounds like an advocate for cloning, thing is, the one killed could have been the one this world really needed.....The conscience is a terrible thing when you get older or think of what could have been, decisions like that aren't easy, but anyone with a heart and soul has to be haunted by such a decision somewhere down the line....sad, but even sadder is the fact the world will never see that smile that could have been.

But my opinion is biased in this, long ago I was with someone and we lost two, both stillborn. Blood thing, ab neg, O positive

I'll go mind my business now.....

Hide And Seek (Tetractys)

search
your heart
deep inside
now you can smile
for I have found the perfect place to hide...

Tetractys should express a complete thought, profound
or comic, witty or wise using 20 syllables. They can be
written with more than one verse but each subsequent
verse must invert the syllable count. There is no limit
to the number of verses. The structure is:

line 1 - 1 syllable
line 2 - 2 syllables
line 3 - 3 syllables
line 4 - 4 syllables
line 5 - 10 syllables

Love is an open wound that one cleanses with salt, and every once in a while some sugar is added:)

A Fact Of Love (Senryu)

Love becomes a fact
when it becomes an action
rather than an act
