Is there anything that I could say right now that would validate my point of view? Sorry....momentarily insecure.

I would love to travel naked! Not so much different than now in warm weather.

Would I be 100 years younger if I went backwards?

There are several who want to go 100Y backwards in every way right now!

1924 - Heck Yes! "Roaring 20s" pre Depression?
2124 - I am trepidatious about this next year!

I think if I learned "The Charleston" before my trip....and aside from THAT...kept a low profile outside The "Cotton Club", I might be able to pull it off...without a paradox or major rift in time.

Thereby blah blah blah....

Are you traveling many kilometers/miles to retrieve fresh and clean water?
If not, we are the fortunate?

Your ancestry....Didn't earn it - what exactly did you do?

Your children..... You think taking credit for someone else's accomplishments is a good thing?

Marsellus Wallace said it best "F*** pride. Pride only hurts, it never helps."

I find the most prideful people are the most narcissistic

Pride has its good and bad sides to it. As long as you’re modest about it then it’s good but if you constantly brag about it then it’s bad. I see no reason to bring people down if they feel they posted something they’re proud about. If you’re not proud about anything well you’ve let yourself down but drag the rest of us down with you.

I absolutely LOVE this reply! I have a tempered pride "by proxy"!
EDIT:...and both of those sentences began with "I".
WE..ALL are trying!

Hell yeah, we were always out, mum and dad both worked long hours, so we were either, at school, out playing or sleeping....

Football was the favourite game, but we often wandered the canals and where we lived was a little housing estate built around an industrial setup...

We ate mud, got grazes and cuts and explored EVERYTHING lol... Now-a-days kids are wrapped up in cotton wool lol...

Bikes, skateboards, not roller skates, and later in late teens motorbikes too...

Hey Jaan Doh, I'm wondering if "Latch Key Kids" was a phenomenon in the UK as well? Perhaps the terminology different? (Perhaps a cultural norm on both sides of the pond after WWII?)??

We used to play a game called "kill the guy with the ball". The rules are hard to explain, but had to do with an old deflated football, a bunch of kids with way too much energy, no desire to play on a school team, and the brains of a gnat.

Mowtown. I am well versed in the big red rubber ball bouncing off of the side of my face. Your whole experience sounds a bit brutal,,,,,beyond BradyGate!

My grandparents lived in Laguna Beach, Ca, so every
year we went down there from the Bay Area, and
started visiting Disneyland just after it opened.

Being a huge fan of the Mickey Mouse Club, we got
ONE Mickey Mouse Hat to cover us both, me being
the younger, my sister always got to wear that
hat during the Mickey Mouse Club on TV.

So my Mother, always one step ahead, got out her
black bra, made a few adjustments and voila!
a 2nd hat!

I was so happy I wore that silly thing til I wore
it out ;-)

Side note: I had my drivers license before I hit
the height chart to be able to DRIVE their
mini car ride!

Lost some of the thrill by then ;-)

LMAO!! "E Ticket Ride"
BTW it was Laguna Main volleyball courts and Salt Creek surfing. Worn some bras on my head imagining they were "Annette's. (TV was slow then...even in CA)
