last question lori wolf wrote the offensive post, with all swear words in, that you took off a few minutes back. why am i getting the blame for quoting SOMEONE ELSES offensive post?? that i dont understand. not blame, debbie...i'm just saying that we appreciate it if you do not quote something that's offensive...it's a simple request so that we may better be able to get rid of such things when they happen, is all. |

Since I didn't read through 12 whole pages about this, I'd thought I just ask.. would you woman feel differently if it was a woman sex offendered that lived on your street vs a man ???. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I totally understand where every one or body might come from about people who did something wrong but if they went through the system and got help they needed shouldn't they be given a second chance or not ????. ya, I said the same thing on like page one or two.... |

Having been the victim of this act gives me an odd view on the subject... The men/women that perform these acts should not be given a chance but putting restraints on wehre they live doesn't work either. I understand keeping them away from children and schools but we need to take a look at the people that they have violated before we tell them wehre to live.
If we take a man that has raped older women and tell him he can't live near a school and he moves into a neighborhood where there a lot of women he would target what good have we done? These laws weren't thought out very well before they were written. |

Okay I have never been in that situation but as far as where they live. Well they have to live somewhere and I would rather know one lives down the street then not know it.
But...... now I have known of cases where it was like a 19 year old boy dating a 17 year old girl they had sex sad part they were dating when the boy was 17 and her 15. Well they had sex her parents screamed rape after the boy was 19. Humm he got charged with sexualy assualt and now on the sex offenders list is that fair? ![]() So each case is different, don't get me wrong rape is very serious crime but should they get a life sentance and one that goes out and kills someone only get 5-15 years think about it. If so they will just figure if I'm gonna rape them might as well get rid of them. It is a sad world and the laws do suck for most were intended to help the victim but at times works the wrong way. ![]() |

You take the chances. That is true but in that case the girl did not want to press charges there was no child involved the parents all of a sudden after all that time of them dating decided they did not want the boy around after all and well they got rid of him for sure. This is just one case where the system was misused. Yeah they should not have been having sex but the whole picture should have been considered. Now if the girl was saying it was rape then hell ya go for it. |

all i can say is, look into a persons eyes after they have been raped, you will so much pain and suffering. then tell me if the person who raped her, deserves a second chance.

all i can say is, look into a persons eyes after they have been raped, you will so much pain and suffering. then tell me if the person who raped her, deserves a second chance. but if he serves 5 years or whatever... (I'm guestimating on the term for this) and then look in her eyes... she has healed, and he hopefully has reformed, then that would be an equal equation. No woman after a rape is going to be the same, so before I make the next statement, please know I am not naieve enough to think that, but after that amount of time, she should be healed enough to forgive her attacker. If she's not, she needs intensive help, and probably had self esteem issues to begin with. We live in a society that believes in forgiveness, and reformation. Some do get reformed, some do not. It is the same with victims, some heal and some do not, but I believe in general both sides of the coin get the time they need to heal. Some people are perpetual victims, and no amount of time for the attacker to be in jail will ever heal them. Is that fair to the aggressor, if infact they do reform? |
|
|

so how do you know someone is reformed unles they are monitored somehow? Some people believe they can't be reformed. as far as time for the victim....there is no time limit for healing and there should never be one placed on them.

NOT your opinion, im talking in general. some people never heal, no matter how hard they try. |
