They should have a second chance, but if you see them in your neighborhood or elsewhere, report their presence to the police. The police need to know where the offenders are, and reords show that offenders have a high probability of re-offending. You're protecting yourself and the people around you when you report their presence. At worst, the police will say, OK, the offender is where they're supposed to be. At best, they'll say, they're not where they're supposed to be and they'll be stopped before anything bad happens. There's lots of evil in this world and it's getting worse. I pray for the Lord's mercy on our land quite often!

Ok, so a little while ago, I was looking at this website that Derek posted a link to. www.familywatchdog.us Anyhow, as I was looking throughout my neighborhood, I saw three different guys that were convicted of rape, 1st degree. I was wondering if you think people like that should have a second chance, living in our neighborhoods? Me personally, I would rather not have these kind of people living anywhere near me. ![]() This should stir up some stuff today! Hopefully not in a bad way! ![]() I don't mind them so much as the one who don't get caught and I don't know about.... ![]() |

In MS the law changed 2 years ago in July. So if I am managing a property that already had a sex offender living there before the law changed, I did not have to answer the question, if someone were to ask, "Does any sex offenders live here?". Now as of July 1st 2006, if someone comes in to my office, and they ask me, " Does any sex offenders live her?", I have to tell them yes if there are any. (Right now, I have none known on any of my properties that I am over, Thank Goodness). All applicants have to go through screenings background/ credit checks, and we do not rent to convicted felons either.
So if you are going to rent/ lease an apt, somewhere ask the people who you are renting/ leasing from upfront. |

That's only a little bit unconstitutional.... just a tad.... ![]() Edit..after thinking about it for a second..this really pisses me off, maybe we should try and convict everyone...before they do anything... they served their time... there is no reason to think they will do it again. Wssn't there a movie about this.. Hey can we say Salem Witch Trials??? |

just because someone is a convicted sex offender does not mean they are a bad egg. There is a wide range of crimes that can force a person to have to register that are actually quite innocent
