Hello all. Iam a friend of lurchs_sister. I am always amazed at what our troops get involved in during and after they leave the service. As some of you know I was recently in Burma just prior to the cyclone. While there I met a man who was a Army special ops guy back in the day. He and his wife are amazing. They are a driving force in the aid and relief community assisting Burma. I would say that every patriot should see how big of a heart this man has and try to help him help others. Check out this website www.freeburmarangers.com and you will see what he and his teams are up against. I feel that every American should try to assist every person to achieve and maintain thier freedom. If you would not let some one treat you badly you should not let anyone treat any other person bad. Do unto others as you would have done unto you.... The golden rule should be expanded to say...do not let others do unto others as you would have done unto you. Protect the innocent, punish the unjust. I hope this generates some comments and maybe even some poems. I love lurchs_sister's poems. She read them to me over the phone and some times I think she is trying to make me cry, because sometimes I do. Semper Fi

A moment of silence & prayer please in the blessed memory of an outstanding WWII Paratrooper My beloved spiritual uncle < Russ Bache'> passed away today (((Vanessa))) So sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Lord we thank you for giving Russ Bache' the time that you did, here on Earth. Please be with his family and friends as they grieve his passing. Wrap your loving arms around them and give them peace. Amen Thank you so much for that beautiful prayer...Brenda, is it? Sorry my memory comes & goes these days ~ I feel bad I didn't think I'd be as emotional as i am , but this is very sad and happy at the same time, and i am feeling mostly the sadness... I know that Uncle Russ would want me to be happy & rejoice in his passing , rather than be sad, but it's hard not to cry... I don't know tons of stuff about him, but i know enough... I do know that he loved football & the Mountains... I know he flew in & jumped from helicopters during WWII and he was a construction foreman for many years... He and his wife Aunt Louise went to the same Church as my Mother and that is how they met... Russ was almost 85 years old & still pretty darn active despite being sick for a long time with congestive heart disease & he was on oxygen when his wife could get him to use it ... He was a very strong , very accomplished, very determined Man He was a good hearted Family Man... He was my Mother's best friend's husband for over 25 years ... He was very hard working and he and his wife were married for over 65 years i think... I know their oldest son is in his early 60's and their other son is probably well into his 50's and their daughter too They have some grandchildren and great grandchildren too. He was my favorite Greeter at the Church and would always open the door for the ladies and children ..HE was loved by All /// there is a scripture that says "I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of the Lord, than to dwell in the house of iniquity " That was <<<<< Uncle Russ >>>>>> He loved God with all of his heart he was some one a lady could be very proud of if she was married to him... He was faithful & loyal, qualities rarely seen these days... Russ was never rude or disrespectful to women at all He always treated me & others with respect and love with the utmost of kindness & courtesy He truly was a mighty man of God ... I could feel God's Presence so extra strong every time when Russ prayed Lately He had gotten really sick and was in and out of the hospital he would call for a taxi or he'd call his wife or son to come get him all the time when they put him in the hospital , he just hated being there he would always check himself out... This time THE LORD Jesus Christ called Mr. Russ Bache' Home and the Lord Himself graciously checked him out of the hospital one last time.... |
