Sooner Than Later
It is a quiet place
the wind whistles
through the cracks
that cannot always
be seen to the eye.
You can lose your place,
like a book where the pages
are blown or closed without
a mark to keep you.
Out across the fields
beyond the red clay sift,
mesquite lines a destination,
if you care to follow.
I think I shall sleep in
that first day, before I realize
I am home, again.

I Love You
Prolific and filling
those spaces between
lines of grammatical symbols
creating drama and feeling,
litanies, books and deep wells,
those places of the heart
where engulfing life and its profundities
lie silent in their grave without
the meaning of just three words, expressed
in completion and question..
So, where have you been all my life?

Been
In my voice that is etched on a thread,
What is the tone? The notes drenched, fear or red?
The world has reached farther than even my sky.
Today, though veiled deeply, black caverns sigh.
Its ebb and its flow in disappearing tone,
Crescendos of blue in pianissimo moan.
Written with words that tell of my tale,
Disclosing a soul, who's pion and grail,
Is just a woman, plain, simple, cotton.
Dreaming in silk, hoping not to be forgotten.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-19
16 Rejoice always,
17 Pray without ceasing,
18 Give thanks in all cirstances;
for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus for you.
19 Do not quench the Spirit.
