i would much rather put up with a weed smoker than an alcoholic the disposition are eons apart and considering i come from an abusive alcoholic family back ground i definitely would know now thats some stats that cant be refuted and im living proof...

if i HAD to choose...and luckily, i don't...i'd rather be around someone who uses small amounts of meth rather than around either of the two that you mentioned.

Once upon a time.......
there were two guys at a party. One who over drank, and one who smoked too much pot. The drunk got mad at the pothead and said he was going to kick the potheads ass. The pothead said ok, but when we're done can we go to MacDonald's?

To each his own......pfffffft!

Caffeine is worse then weed.

i choose not to be around anyone that uses ANY substance...let me state that straight out.

however, i've known people that use all sorts of substances. the personality traits differ...those who snort the occasional SMALL line...not large enough to get high off of but enough for energy...are the ones that seem to get stuff accomplished.

out of those that i've known, of course. someone who's drunk is incoherent and annoying...someone who's stoned just bugs the heck out of me...lol.

everything these days is bad for you in mass consumption. Look at all the young kids getting diabities cuz mom is too lazy to say no to the candybar or uses it to get her kid off her ass, or or or......you can make a case out of anything.

This topic should have died a long time agoyawn

I was just trying to get some thoughts.
Seems a lot of conversation broke out over something I did not intend on.

So many questions are asked on here that can be answered very simplily. This may not be the answer you are looking for, but it is my personal preference not to date anyone who does any type of illegal substance. My reasoning... I have dealt with alcoholics and drug users, I was married to one and I dated one.

I do not think you should be upset, it is just as much your choice to do the drug as it is my choice not to put up with it by my significant other.

In all honesty, I don't think that a relationship between you and someone who does not do it will work out. Eventually one of you will get tired of the others behavior, whether it is you who become tired of her nagging you to quit, or her just getting fed up with your usage.

I hope that you dont take this the wrong way, I didn't mean anything to offend you, I was just stating my opinion!

Wow I don't even know how you can categorize meth with pot and alcohol. I have seen meth destroy people and it is so addictive. Pot and Alcohol take a lot longer to become addictive.

heh, i'm not categorizing them together, lol...

however, a person that is on meth isn't incoherent, either. assuming, of course, that they haven't been for two weeks without sleep.

It doesn't really matter, some people don't want to be with people who smoke weed so it's better for both people, the anti weed person and the weed smoker if they aren't together. Everyone has preferences. I try to judge a person based on their actions. If someone's irresponsible and moronic I don't really care what the cause of it is, whether it's an illegal drug, legal drug, or psychological issues or plain personal dysfunction. Though I'd probably stay away from hard drug users because I think I have a bit of an addictive personality and I wouldn't want the temptation.

Personally I don't see why weed is illegal. It is no worse for you than cigarettes or alcohol. Who made that call? I think people do have a very distorted view of marijuana, I sometimes wonder if they don't leave it illegal simply because so many people are making a lot more money off of it. It certainly is easy enough to grow. I myself think it has a very revolting smell and I don't touch the stuff. It makes me listless and it makes my chest ache after smoking it.

i have a seven yr old son and a pot smoker or a drunk would not be the type of male role model I would want my son exposed too.I don't give a **** what other people do with their lives but I do care when it has the potential to screw mine and my sons up.

I can understand that.
I do think though that if you were to find a really good guy who wants to support you and your kid, but the only problem is he smokes weed... you could overlook it if he were to do it in private and never around you or your kid.
I don't know. That's a good topic to debate about.

yes your right.but since i work and my sons father pays child support, any substance abuse on the part of a potential partner is an absolute deal breaker.I'm not saying i'm perfect, did drugs and drank in my younger days but now I either have better judgement or less patience for bullkuckie.I think its a wee bit of both..laugh

My major problem with pot smokers is that they seem to be a very unmotivated crowd. That is the people like my ex that smoke daily. It drains your motivation. But then if you drink alcohol daily it does the same to you also. I would avoid pot smokers if I were ever to get involved with anyone else.

drugs affect different people differently but pot has medicinal purposes if not than why would doctors be able to prescribe it thats my main reasoning behind wanting to see it legalized i personally do not drink or smoke but if the demand for pot is so great why watch the profits go to other countries that will use the money against us as opposed to using the profits towards our own needs while also creating new jobs ..you could still have a legal age limit like alcohol

Plenty of drug money goes back to our economy. I hear people say how it has a medical use. Thats great. How many people that want to smoke pot have a medical use for it. Thats like me saying I smoke pot because it helps people with glaucoma yet I have no issues with my eyes.So how many people just want to get it approved for medical use so it's easier to score and get high.Granted noone that I'm aware of has stolen a car stereo for weed. I do see how hanging with people that first drink then smokes pot eventually somebody shows up with a 8 ball. I have no problem if someone is a recreational drug user. Getting drunk and stoned everyweekend is not a recreational user in book. Many people start out with the best intentions in the world, and then get caught up into the scene of drugs and alcohol. As a user you might think your habit or addiction is harmless and thats fine for you.Just don't tell people because they want no part of you that they are the ones that are messed up.

I don't stigmatize pot. Pot or not, I dont like smokers because of the smell. True some can be more polite about it than others, but that doesnt take away the smell in their car, clothes, breath, house, did I say breath? And not to mention health costs if a relationship did develop.

Beer breath isnt any better, really, but generally everything doesnt stink of beer all the time the way it does of smoke.

PS if I had to pick a vice, it wouldn't be pot anyway. It increases your apetite, and lowers dopamine levels. Two things I definitely do NOT want! I want the opposite.
