Hope you are going to post lots of photos river . I have never visited America . Interested to see what is on offer lol . Good to hear you are being sensible about breaking up your driving time . Happy travels ... hope the travel god drops a gorgeous man in your path x Oooo, me too, me too!!! I was thinking about photos this morning. I wish I had taken a few when I was driving through the mountains in Pennsylvania. After Friday's drive I was experiencing a little bit of motion sickness, so just wanted to get to my next destination. Taking the alternate route where I could slow down and be out of heavy traffic did help some. But this morning is the first time since I left that I haven't felt I was still in motion, even when I wasn't, lol. It's not making me nauseous, just a slight fogginess/heaviness in the head and like I'm still moving. I'm happy I broke it up like I did with a little break here in Tennessee, and then a little break a couple hours away from my workplace in Wyoming. It will give my body a chance to adjust to the altitude changes and recover from driving all day. I've only experienced motion sickness once before in my lifetime, it was when I had been out on a boat the entire day. The whole next day I felt like I was still on a boat, haha. |

Happy Easter ..... drive safe Thanks, hope you had a nice Easter. Driving on Easter Sunday turned out to be really nice. No traffic until I got to Knoxville Tennessee. So the first half of my trip was awesome. Not too bad between Knoxville and Nashville, but Nashville is a nightmare, lol. I'm thinking of finding a country road that takes me out of town to the Interstate when it's time to leave, haha. I'm definitely not a city girl. As much time as I've spent driving in cities, I still don't like it. |

Day 4
My little kitchenette suite is awesome! The only thing I would like to have different is being able to park outside the door to my room. But everything else is perfect and CLEAN! The extended stay america hotels are definitely on top of things when it comes to CDC protocol concerning covid. I even had to request dishes, cookware, and a coffee pot, since they don't leave that stuff in the room. It was great to see Stu again. His little dog Foxy is adorable, she abandoned Stu to jump on my lap. After pizza and half a movie (I fell asleep, lol) they went home and I continued to have a much needed goodnight's sleep. On the agenda today... It's going to be sunny and 78F, a good day to be out on the boat. Fishing and relaxing! |

Tiniest bit envious You'll get your chance... it they ever lift the travel restrictions in the UK well, I'll have a few more wrinkles by then I expect. And probably totally decrepit. Haha, well so long as you're still able to cook me a nice breakfast, I suppose that'll be fine. |

A very aggressive itinerary you have there.
While the highways and by-ways of the Eastern US can be beautiful and meeting minglers can be enriching you are missing out on a lot of beautiful interesting things by stay on the highways. For instance: Roanoke became a city so quickly that it earned the nickname "Magic City." The Mill Mountain Star, also known as the Roanoke Star, is the world's second largest illuminated man-made star, constructed in 1949 at the top of Mill Mountain in Roanoke, Virginia.
One of history's greatest unsolved mysteries: what happened to the lost colony of Roanoke Island? Founded in August 1585 by Queen Elizabeth I's favorite, Sir Walter Ralegh, the first English settlement in the New World was found abandoned without a trace of the colonists in 1590. The Great Smoky Mountains (Cherokee) are a mountain range rising along the Tennessee–North Carolina border in the southeastern United States. They are a subrange of the Appalachian Mountains, and form part of the Blue Ridge Physiographic Province.
From Tennessee to Wyoming there are many attractions and significant points of interest you will miss out seeing/experiencing with such a fast itinerary. I assume you are taking I70 across to Denver then north at Denver to Wyoming? Nashville has the Country Music Hall of Fame and many music oriented shops near it. Dollywood and the Great Smoky Mountain National park is just south east of Knoxville and Douglas Lake is just east of Knoxville. At the 40/55 interchange is Memphis which has Elvis shrines and you can do the Lively "Street Crawl" along Beale Street in Memphis. Great food and live music. The Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site is the site of a pre-Columbian Native American city directly across the Mississippi River from modern St. Louis, Missouri. You can also visit Trail of Tears, Lake Wappapello (rent a cabin), Johnson Shut-Ins and Elephant Rocks. In St Louis you can go up in the Arch or take a lazy riverboat tour on the Mississippi, Lots of Bald Eagles and falcons. You can see Mark Twain's cabin at Mark Twain lake. St Louis Zoo is free, there's also a science center and amphitheater. In Kansas City the Lakeside Nature Center is beautiful in the spring. Plus there's the Kauffman Memorial Gardens. Sadly, I found most of I70 pretty boring in Kansas but when you see the Rockies come into view it is beautiful. You'll notice the colors of the dirt change. Sadly, I've only been to Denver so I only experienced a small part of the Rockies but what I did explore was breathtaking. Drive safe, make sure you take lots of pictures and video, you will want them. |

I feel like I'm travelling with you, my dear friend. Keep posting. I love reading them. Thank you my dear friend rosie, I'm glad you're with me in spirit. Stu and I had a really nice day. We didn't go out on the boat today, that will be tomorrow. We had planned on spending most of the time on the lake at the marina, where he has his boat. But there was major flooding last Thursday which made the road to the island inaccessible. We went to a few parks and did a little hiking. Tomorrow we'll take his other boat and go to a different lake. I'm really looking forward to it. |

Day 5
Slept good last night, yet I woke up missing the comforts of home, especially my bed, haha. The little coffee pot the hotel gave me decided not to work for some reason. I ended up using one of those single cup coffee bags I had gotten for dorm life. Later I discovered that the coffee maker had a safety feature to it, and was able to enjoy brewed coffee, yay! Yesterday I had to call the front desk to show me how the shower works, lol. There was no noticeable gadget to turn it on. Figures it had to be a man who came to show me how it works, with me standing there in my robe. So yes, definitely missing the comforts of home, the conveniences of having stuff I don't have to figure out and it all going smoothly! I'm grumbling a little, but laughing as well. It's all perfectly timed, spend a week and a half getting used to things not being familiar or convenient, to prepare me for my new environment at the resort. By time I get there, I'll have had plenty of practice adjusting to the inconvenient and unexpected things that pop up when you leave your safe little comfort zone. |

Making me laugh I was actually thinking of leaving here on Thursday instead of Friday. I'm eager to get there. But I also want an extra travel day so I can enjoy the scenery a little more. |
