Earth, a vast frontier
These are the adventures of Riverspirit Enterprise laugh
Her three year mission, or longer if so desired
To explore the US, possibly the world
To seek out new experiences
And new communities
To boldly go where she's not gone before

I've always loved the intro to Star Trek. I thought it'd be cool to use it as a basis in creating my mission statement for seasonal work and travel. biggrin

Day 1: Time of departure is around 7am. I decided to take my time and only drive 6 to 8 hours a day. Years ago I'd drive ten/eleven hours in a day, but back then I didn't need to make as many stops as my now 58 year old bladder requires me to. laugh

Itinerary:
Friday/Friday night: Somewhere in Pennsylvania
Saturday night: Roanoke, Virginia
Sunday night thru Friday morning: Tennessee
Friday and Saturday: Somewhere between Tennessee and Wyoming
Sunday night thru Wednesday morning: Rock Springs, Wyoming
Wednesday thru the next 6 months: My seasonal job in the Grand Teton National Park

Thanks Delightful flowerforyou

I'm a little nervous about driving through New England, traffic is crazy and the route has me taking several highways until I get to Interstate 84. Once I'm there, I'll be able to breathe, and turn off the GPS, lol.

Let’s hope the traffic won’t be as bad as you envisioned. Take your time and look forward to reaching the end of it when you will be able to relax more and enjoy your surroundings biggrin

Hopefully I don't bump into anyone, I can't afford a ticket or to be sued laugh Kidding, I know what you mean. flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

Driving through New England all I saw was traffic, and more traffic. I dared not look at the scenery, lol.

Once I got away from the hustle and bustle of New England, the drive was quite nice. It last way longer than I originally planned due to an accident, and a lot of construction. Tomorrow's journey is a little shorter and not so citified, so I'll be able to pay a little attention to the scenery. happy

Thanks Crystal. :)

Roanoke is the halfway point between where I am now, and where Stu is. I'll be visiting him for a few days before heading to Wyoming. My job doesn't start until April 14th. I figured I'd leave early, I need a vacation. My last stop before work is three nights in Rock Springs, Wyoming. That will be me time before going back to work.

Don't get lost in Roanoke.

Some of my co-workers are military guys who'll be leaving for more training in Wyoming in a few days. Be careful, they always joke about being on the bomb squad but I think they're really just mechanics.

I won't be spending any time roaming around Roanoke, it's just a rest point where I'll be sleeping.

Day 2

I feel like I've been hit by a mack truck, haha. I will need to shorten how long I spend on the road for the rest of this journey. I booked most of the motels in advance based on my estimation of how long it will take me to get there. I was way off yesterday. slaphead laugh

Today's agenda... Have breakfast with a friend. Then head to Roanoke for a good night's rest. Fortunately it's a 100 miles less than yesterday, so that will help shorten my trip.

Perhaps the roads won’t be as congested today so you could probably make good ground 🤞

Enjoy your breakfast 🥞 flowerforyou
