I am the farthest thing from negative. I give very short answers and I am not even worked up when I respond. My side is so obviously correct that I feel sorry for you that have to defend it. The only reason that I came back in here is because kalamazoo kept putting in responses recently so I thought he wanted a reply. As far as repunzel goes I have never seen her before. She is asking questions that have been answered very many times in this very post by me. If you really had some interest in this topic you could read though before you asked things like why do I feel threatened by Christianity.
There are many reasons but Ill put a few, you are compelled to proselytize. This is very insulting to everyone. If your religion said live and let live there would be no problem. Since you are compelled to proselytize then I must work against that for the brothers and sisters in reason. Second Christianity feels a need to fight science for some reason. Science just goes along looking for truth. It doesn't go along looking for believers it draws in believers because of its truths. I think that Christianity should learn something from that not fight it. The damage that is done to science alone is astronomical and you probably can't put a dollar number on it.

No insult taken here Captin and in return I will be thinking for you

back on topic. God can forsake God.

it is ridiculous to assert otherwise! what is to prevent God from having a senior God moment? nothing at all. in fact that is probably how we got black holes.

if God wishes to engage in a little minor masochistic behavior then it's all good. remember, it's lonely at the top!!

I love all the enlightened ones.

My question is an obvious one. If Jesus isn't God than why are so many trying to prove he isn't God?

I find that people who say that the enlightened ones are not a part of God seem to bring a lot of anger to the table. Whereas people who have found peace with God know the source on a personal level.

One thing you can bank on, you may not love Jesus, or even God, but they love you.

peace

If you feel that it makes you God =), but then again thats what the devil thought

The Devil thought that since he loved everyone, and since everyone always points out that "God loves you" like that is an amazing feat, that maybe people would confuse him for God cause he really had love for everyone?

What bible do you have?

In responce to Spider.

The Bible is not a 'bad' book, if it is used as a 'personal' guide to one's individual faith.

When it becomes property, intended to be interpreted by an individual for the sole purpose of an all inclusive User Guide, it becomes a matter of social discourse. Such discourse has an agenda, to feed the ego of those who feel righteous beyond all other humans.

For this reason it will continue to be a source to foul the souls of many, and destroy the well-being of mass populations.

The Bible can not be considered a source of knowledge provided by a deity, when that source of knowledge is subject to the discretion of any user.

Redykeulous,

Your statements scare me. I wrote a long post explaining to you why they scare me, but I deleted it because I don't think it will make any difference. I do want to ask this one question, "Have you thought about what a slippery slope you are walking on?"

I think its sad repunzel that you feel that anyone that questions your religion is "disrespect the teachings of Our Lord Jesus". If you feel your religion can't hold up to an open question and answer session how can it be the one true religion?

Don't feel bad that you haven't found your own words to respond to anything I'v said so far. Your position is virtually imposable to defend.

truly searching for what is real and right ...drinker

The love part is that I love everyone and quite often people point out that God is loving. That doesn't impress me, Love is not that odd an occurrence.

Throw the OLD Testement outand what do we have? Confusion. Why Yahshua died the way he did and what happened is in the TORAH.

Deut 21:22-23

22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree :

23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of Elohim;) that thy land be not defiled, which the Yahweh thy Elohim giveth thee for an inheritance.
KJV

Now what did Paul say and where did he get it from?

Gal 3:10-13

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of Elohim, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13 Messiah hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
KJV

Do you see Paul is quoting from Deut 21?

What else did Duet say had to happen to some one who was cursed on a tree?

23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of Elohim;) that thy land be not defiled, which the Yahweh thy Elohim giveth thee for an inheritance.
KJV
What did happen to Yahshua after he died on the tree?

Matt 27:57-60
7 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
KJV

He took him down off the tree as the Law prescibed.

Now those famous words....

Matt 27:46

46 And about the ninth hour Yahshua cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My El, my El, why hast thou forsaken me?
KJV

What did this all mean?

Ps 22:1-7

My El, my El, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

2 O my El, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head saying,
KJV

The soldiers did make fun of him.

Matt 27:40-43
And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of Elohim, come down from the cross.

41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

43 He trusted in Elohim; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
KJV
Just like the Psalmist said. But what did Paul say about Yahshua again. It is a very good lesson

12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13 Messiah hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

He is telling us about how through faith Yahshua saved us.

With this great faith Yahweh tells us what was going on.
Ps 22:23-24
Ye that fear Yahweh, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
KJV
Yahweh Heard is son crying out and through faith he rose again.

Then look at what Yahweh says will happen because of Yahshua's obedience.

Ps 22:27-31
All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto Yahweh: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

28 For the kingdom is Yahweh's: and he is the governor among the nations.

29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Master for a generation.

31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
KJV

This is IMO... But i question you what does all this mean? Is it over yet?

Blessings in Yahweh of Hosts Name......Miles

I know in the true definition of the word it is someone who says it is impossible to know. So I am really more like an agnostic theist, however I don't really buy into the one big god story. So I can't put a finger on it. More like we exist beyond what we are here.
