Bird Box - 2018 - Drama, Thriller, Sci-Fi, Horror - 6,6 rating
With Sandra Bullock

WOW! I loved this movie, utterly captivating!
I don't get how I never came across it before. It was a joy to see something that was new to me.

Amid a nightmarish new reality where an unseen malevolent force purges the global population, the single mother, Malorie, and her two children, embark on a life-threatening quest to find the last protected haven on Earth. However, in this dangerous quest, one's eyesight is the real enemy--and as the defenceless blindfolded protector summons up the courage to follow a faint shred of hope hidden deep in a refuge down the river--darkness may be the only thing that can save them. Now, the rules of survival have changed. Will Malorie and her kids live to see another day?

History... 1938... An archaeologist embarks on the historically important excavation of Sutton Hoo in 1938.

Movie is called The Dig - 2021
with Ralph Fiennes, Lily James

Great movie! And turns out to be a true story, which I had no idea of. The find was gifted to the British museum so everyone can see it there.
Movie very much worth watching. Not fast moving, but very captivating.

FINALLY an HD version of The Marksman available! About time, hihi.
It was a good movie. Labelled 'action thriller'. Nothing thriller about it. I'd say drama action.
A good movie though.

Salvation sci-fi thriller drama tv series. Rating 7

I had seen at least part of it before. There are only 2 seasons then it was cancelled, but the last available episode at least doesn't leave you completely hanging.
It is worth watching for sure, even though they threw in a lot of side story drama that I personally always dislike.

And it's weird it got cancelled as it got a 7 rating.

Tribes of Europa - Netflix, released Febr 2021

It is really intriguing to watch! Takes a little getting used to as it goes back and forth from German to English and back, depending on which tribe. Subtitles are a click away on the streaming site :)

If you want something different, by all means check it out!
It's still up in the air if there's going to be a 2nd season.
And, it's NOT a teen thing. The mention below of "3 siblings" might make it seem that way. Not the best of description either, but alas.

2074: three siblings set out to change the fate of Europe after a global catastrophe causes Europe to fracture into dystopian warring tribal micro-states who vie for dominance over the other states. Three siblings get caught up in the conflict when they come into possession of a mysterious cube.

Primeval series

Primeval: New World

Had seen both before way back then, but it was good watching them again!

Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) Rating 6
With Angelina Jolie...

She finds a boy in the woods after his dad was killed and has to get him to safety. Through the woods that were set on fire, chased by the two killers of dad.

The action was really good, although it never became clear WHY the bad guys were going after people to kill them, incl. the boy's dad. It was a good movie nonetheless, but it would've been nice had that part been cleared up.

it never became clear WHY the bad guys were going after people to kill them

The first was a district attorney.
The boys dad was a forensic accountant working with the district attorney.
The data the dad uncovered threatened very high public officials.
The dad gave those details to his son before he died.
The agency who sent the hit team was never explored but implied they had history making unwanted/dangerous whistleblowers dead.
Implying someone threatened by the district attorney and the forensic accountant's data sent the agency after them to 'clean up'(stop) the 'problem'.
When the boy makes his statement to the media the data is out and can't be stopped. The film was an effort to stop the boy from talking to the media.

Wrath of Man - 2021 - Jason Statham
A Guy Ritchie movie.
It is a good movie, but has the typical weirdness of a Guy Ritchie movie that I don't like so much: it jumps all over the place without indication nor explanation from setting to setting in past and present.

I must say I prefer the last 2 over the first.

Spiral - 2021 - mystery, crime, thriller, horror
New movie with Chris Rock, Samuel L Jackson, and some other known faces.

Pretty gross for my taste, certain scenes I turned down sound and clicked another tab as I didn't want to watch nor hear.

At first Chris Rock was his usual annoying self (I'm not a fan) but then it got intense and good.

Hands down the most intense action thriller movie I’ve seen is Mad Max - Fury Road
with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Not sure if it’s your type of movie, but wow, I
thought it was great and really loved the story line.

Scarlett (2020) m stone b krause 4.8 spy action
Actually not bad for a Brian Krauss movie. I rerate it to a 5.8 rating because it was one worth watching.

Infinite (2021) m wahlberg 5.6 reincarnation scifi
I rerate this at a 6.6 because it has some pretty intense action sequences.
I also thought the story was well written.

Occupation Rainfall (2020) d ewing t morrison d gillies 5.0 alien invasion/war
Gotta give this one a 6.0 rating because of the intense action and the great special effects. At the end it says Chapter 1 so I guess there will be a sequel, I hope so...

I may try it again, but when I began watching it a few years back I never got to the ending.
I've always been a die-hard Mad Max fan, but yeah... Mel Gibson!! I fell in love with the man forever when I saw Mad Max 1 when I was around 17, hihi.
