When Jesus says "My father and I are one", it comes from a word that means one spiritually. So yes, while Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit descended. It was prohibited for women to even speak in public. It has nothing directly to do with an instruction from God himself. And having women remain silent in church would then also help keeping the men silent in church. Not being sexist here, just if one isn't speaking, the other then isn't speaking. The entire key to this was keeping silence in the church during service. There is no room for any discussion besides from the preacher during service. And also keep in mind, when these things were originally written down, they were not specifically intended to be gathered together into one book, which we now call the Holy Bible. Each "book" in the bible is an epistle, a letter to a specific group of people for a specific reason. Thus why the Catholic church, Vadican or whatever there are many epistles that are not included in the bible. Only what they felt was the most important things were included. For whatever reason. That is why studying the word of God comes with lots of prayer as well. God will reveal to you the glory of the Heavens if you open your heart for the answer. It's not about just reading some book. |
