For me, it feels like I have been to a funeral. This person I thought I knew, is no more. He is gone. I feel sad.

In other words..let us take care of them for the rest of their natural lives, let them have accass to the internet, write books and cry about how badly they are mistreated...wow...that's real punishment there. While in the meantime..all the other ones like them, say hey...what's the worse that can happen to us??? Let's go ahead and do whatever our perverted minds tell us to...we'll be taken care of even if we get caught. Way to go!! I said nothing about internet access, they don't need that. By treat them like humans, I mean I don't think they should be tortured or mutilated. Why should I care if they write books or complain about their treatment? I believe that all prisons should require that the inmates work. They work or they go in the hole. The goal would be to make prisons self sustaining. Put the prison somewhere that limited or no guards would be required. I think it could be done without encouraging more offenders or acting like barbarians. He and the other child predators should receive the same type of treatment and compassion they showed their victims. |

But there was a part of Keith, the Lex part who was brilliant. I am not saying his crimes were not bad. But the clever guy who did the "Glorious Profile" threads and wrote was a very intelligent person. I think we all mourn THAT ASPECT of the person we thought we knew. The guy with the perfect grammar and spelling, etc. Remember his crimes were almost a decade ago. He often said his only friends were online. He avoided women with children at all costs, etc. I think he was trying to have a somewhat normal life. I am not making excuses for what he did. But if you knew the crimes of every person who walked down the street, you would never leave your house. A friend told me that after I found out about another friend's horrible violent past. And it's true. |
