Im laughing at the extremity of the accusations and the implication of being so all knowing about a whole group of people,,,


if it were about a race, it would be called something different

but I guess because its about what was witnessed at SOME churches,, its acceptable,,,

and I tire as a baptist, of being told by the non religious what my personal religious experience MUST be because of their experiences,,,

why I usually make a disclaimer regarding
'what works for me'

My Parents Had Their Method in their Time

My Method was different to My Parents

I watch My Children discipline their Children and methods have improved...no need whatsoever to order your children to ..."Assume The Position"

operative words are 'your children'

there was a NEED with me, personally, because nothing else would have worked at a younger age (before reason and logic kick in) to teach me that my parents need and deserve me to trust them and their need to keep me safe and teach me

I. like most of my family and those from families I know who spank, had a very vivid imagination, along with alot of curiosity and a fair amount of intelligence

, time outs, groundings, nor just about anything else,, would NOT have got my attention long enough to teach me,,,,I LOVED my own company

discomfort, however, grabbed my attention very well and imprinted on my mind as a consequence of bad choice (something still true in my adult years) so it was both 'right' and effective in our family




how could one presume to know what is effective with 'my children'

I wouldnt tell you you do it 'wrong' because you dont spank, you are telling me your way is working for you

I tell you our way works just as much for us within a BALANCE of meeting important emotional and physical needs for our children


question is,, can you accept I can have a right way for me that doesnt have to be effective or 'right' for you?

I just gave you an example of three generations of improvement.

You beat your children as much as you want and you teach your children to beat their children... so on and so forth

there we go , equating spanking and beating and violence all in the same picture

its like equating grounding to kidnapping

or placing them in a car seat against their will as kidnapping

,,but whatever floats peoples judgmental boats



I will continue to discipline and teach them to discipline,,,
