I donno....

My line of thinking is you got one life. Death comes to us all. My question is, why would you not love the fragment of life that you are lucky enough to have?

Nietzche was f**king retarded.

(idiot critics also told you that Andy Warhol was an artist and Bob Dylan was a great singer....Nietzche sucked. So did Picasso.)

A poem studied in school days is well in remembrance.

When I born
only I was crying
everyone else around me
was happy & smiling.

When I died
only I was happy
everyone else around my dead body
was sad & crying.

There were many great saints in india who ended their life silently without any hesitation when they thought that the task for which they got this human life is completed.

Saint dnyaneshwar at his 21 enter into a state of "Samadhi" because he felt that the mission of his life was complete.

i don't think it even has to be this 'deep.'
not everyone has a purpose in life.
i'll never forget my sixth grade history teacher telling us how insignificant we are.
most won't make any change in this world.
i'm not saying that because we won't make a change life isn't worth living,
but if our lives don't matter why would our deaths?
i'm such a little ray of sunshine.
haha.

well for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction

a reaction we may not always perceive

so we unwittingly make our impacts here & there & there & here

often barely aware, if at all, of the consequences

and some of those consequences could be unknown but momumental - like I was the one who gave Dan Fouts the idea to play football and my great grandmother persuaded alfred e neuman to tell jokes

haha

A coward bases his or her behavior seeking approval from others. The least cowardly act is that which is most self-seeking.

That is very dark. Everyone's life matters. Not only to that person but also to others and it was very insensitve for your teacher to say that and the fact you remember it still even now shows what an awful thing it was for him to say. We may not think we make a difference but everyone does, whether it is giving birth to a baby or helping someone less fortunate than yourself. There are a lot of sad lonely people out there thanks to the fact that families are scattered so a lot of people don't have extended family around them to help and encourage. A lot of people struggle on which is no wonder there is loads of people into addictive habits or taking meds for depression. I think we have all been there and done that at one time or another - it takes a huge effort to rise out of the abyss and no-one should be ashamed to ask for help to get them through the bad times.

Great vision for life,Sapphire!!

What we are is god's gift to us.
What we become is our gift to god!

God has gifted us with almost equal strengths,it is our view for life which makes difference.

Many die too late, and some die too early. Yet strange soundeth the precept: "Die at the right time!"

Die at the right time: so teacheth Zarathustra.

To be sure, he who never liveth at the right time, how could he ever die at the right time? Would that he might never be born!--Thus do I advise the superfluous ones.

But even the superfluous ones make much ado about their death, and even the hollowest nut wanteth to be cracked.

Every one regardeth dying as a great matter: but as yet death is not a festival. Not yet have people learned to inaugurate the finest festivals.

The consummating death I show unto you, which becometh a stimulus and promise to the living.

His death, dieth the consummating one triumphantly, surrounded by hoping and promising ones.

Thus should one learn to die; and there should be no festival at which such a dying one doth not consecrate the oaths of the living!

-- Friedrich Nietzsche

Wow. This makes sense. Aside from the staggering theoretical and philosophical implications, this could save the world:

The establishing of a line of profession which advises people which is the right time for them to die.

For one thing, a new profession would develop, hungry for manpower, and thus easing the unemployment situation.

For one thing, it would hopefully lower the average life span, increase the death rate, and thus solve the world's overpopulation crisis, and all other crises that ensue from it.

Lex, you just might have successfully created a workable plan to halt and turn around the world situation of economical doom that we each face these hard times.
Hey Lex,

Can I get your autograph NOW, before they start building monuments to you and chit!

I only do that at book signings.

Pfffffffft.whoa

Look, hes already got a fat ego! spock

Are you sure this is a good thing Andrew.sad2

I kinda liked good ole humble Lex!flowerforyou

bah humbug. why dont they hurry up and die so we can decrease the surplus population.
I was wondering why that statement was under my quote.surprised

Than I realized we were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy offtopic oops laugh

Having one of those days, and was just wondering:
Who is the greater corward, the man who stands on the bridge and jumps, or the one that stands on the bridge but can't?

The one who jumps. Jumping is the easy way out :p

For me personally; I think it takes a lot of guts to actually jumps. He knows there is no going back and has made that decision to end his life; which I wonder sometimes if that would be a better thing to do rather than suffering through this hell we call life. The one that doesn't jump is usually only looking for attention. JMO

What you say makes sense. I look at it if I were to jump off a bridge tomorrow; what difference would my death make? Oh, my friends and family will grieve for a bit but within a few days; everything will return to normal. So, my life is truly insignificant and I would be arrogant to think my life or death would affect anyone or anything. My parents told me many times my birth was a mistake and so it does ponder a question is to why I am even here or why I bother to exist. As you say; its not like I am going to change the world.

changing the world starts one person at a time, and we all are important enough to affect at least one , who then affects another, and so on and so on, until we see the result of a changing world....

That's how I see it, too. We're here for a short time, make a small impact on those who know us, and then we're gone. Very few of us will ever do anything monumental like finding a cure for cancer or inventing a time travel machine. Most of us are, in the end, just meaningless cogs in a vast, uncaring machine.

I often think the ones that will change the world are the ones that have something to contribute to help change it or those with money or those with the intelligence to invent something fantastic. I can't or won't speak for anyone else other than myself but I really don't feel I have made any contributions other than just adding to the population growth.
