If only the government hadnt illegally spied and eavesdropped on thousands of American citizens.
i never understood why this is an issue with some people... if you have nothing to hide, why is it an issue? OMG We have a right to privacy. Period. This is true. They have been terrorized and brain washed. They look to their government and yell "save us from those awful terrorists!" And they give away all their power. Next it will be: "Save us from those invading aliens!" ... and they will turn over the last of their personal power. i will, for the alien overlords... And the alien overlords will eat your children. |

What have I said so far that indicates I would be ok with government surveillance??? Love how you generalize and lump us all together because we don't jump on your bandwagon. |

i never understood why this is an issue with some people... if you have nothing to hide, why is it an issue? Ah, the "logic" of the Police Statist. The reason it's an issue is that if the "authorities" can spy on you, you are not a citizen-you are a serf. Read up on the Cheka (the Soviet secret police). That's where the slippery slope of Surveilance Statism leads to. i see both sides of it, because i used to think like that... but it really doesn't bother me anymore, because i'm not a criminal... but like i said, it is worth it even if one plot is found, the life they might be saving could yours or someone you care about. No its not worth it for these reasons. People who "used to think that way" but have changed their minds (You for example.)have undoubtedly changed their minds because of what is called the "problem solution method" of government. The government needs more power to stay in power so they create or find and exploit a problem that they can solve to show the people how much they are needed. They create terrorism. They exploit it in the news and they do their best to terrorize the people with it so they can get the people to give up their rights and freedoms in exchange for feeling safe and secure. The patriot act is a perfect example. If you want a great education about how governments operate this system read "The report from Iron Mountain." (It doesn't matter who claims to have written it.) So the powers that own governments are actually the same powers who support and exploit terrorism. This is obvious to anyone who is really paying attention. Secondly, You say it doesn't bother you because you are not a criminal. If you were to discover, much to your horror, that the government was corrupt, and you objected to it, they would make you into a criminal. Then, you would be subject to all the laws you helped to pass and you would have no rights or privacy. You would be screwed. You don't want to give your life over to government. Ultimate power will eventually become ultimately corrupt. And they will have total control over everyone because you, out of fear, exchanged your rights and your privacy so you could feel safer. You let them terrorize you with their fear mongering. |

LOL, except there is no such thing as ultimate power over living things with the exception of the taking of that life. The most you can hope for is that the living thing considers you an important part of their life.
The false rhetoric of fear goes on and on. Fear the government, fear those unlike you, fear fear fear... And after they get you to fear it then they get you to hate it for all the same reasons that they made you fear it. |

True, there is no such thing as ultimate power over someone. But people and governments still try to do it. It is the people who really have the power. That is why the government always wants to know what people are thinking. They take polls so they can see what people are thinking and help influence the way they think. Governments are necessary and I don't fear them, but I do think people should pay attention to the propaganda they are being fed and ask them self what the agenda is. Mostly the agenda is all about power and money. As they say, follow the money when investigating any crime. |

I think the middle east and the organizations against the US believe they have won because of the tremendous amount of cost it took us to cripple the Al Qaeda and Taliban. What is it 3 or 4.5 trillion dollars later?
Little do they know that we will rebound again. Our stock market has rebounded, employment is going up, and our military (although strained at times) is still the most advanced in technology and powerful in the world. They surely awakened a sleeping super power. As a just recently former vet I will not let this country fail no matter how many countries wish us to fail. It won't happen because even though we have our little quarrels amongst each other over ideas of how to run a country better...when it really counts and is important (in emergency situations) we are more united then any country in the world. There is no time to feel pessimistic. There is only time to be optimistic and truly work hard. What did President Kennedy once say: It is not what the country can do for you, but what you can do for the country. Now just do it! |

Bin Laden is not named as the perpetrator of 9/11 by the FBI:
When asked why there is no mention of 9/11 on Bin Laden’s Most Wanted web page (30), [Rex Tomb, Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI] said, “The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Usama Bin Laden’s Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11.” (31) "So we've never made the case, or argued the case that somehow Osama bin Laden [sic] was directly involved in 9/11. That evidence has never been forthcoming" - Dick Cheney. (32) To date, the only shred of “evidence” to be uncovered against bin Laden is a barely audible fuzzy amateur video that the Pentagon just happened to find "lying around" in Afghanistan. How very convenient, and how very fake. (33) http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/fiveisraelis.html |

However, the problem with the national debt is really big and getting bigger. It is big enough to cause the US to fall as a world power. |

However, the problem with the national debt is really big and getting bigger. It is big enough to cause the US to fall as a world power. I am certainly no economist! Do you have any ideas on how to rebound financially? Here is just a little idea. If it will work is really up to the people. China is making most of our products and it is predicted that this country will surpass as the new world power by 2050 if not sooner, so some articles say by economists. I am not sure if that is true, but I know China is really pushing hard in trying to be on top of the world by making other countries depended on it. If the US corporations determine to help Mexico with its problems by sending their industries there to help increase employment, which can reduce crime then the immigration problem might decrease tremendously. This way perhaps Americans can actually have a chance to find work (for those companies that wish to stay in the states) because less illegal immigration from Mexicans will happen trying to cross our borders. Again I am no politician or economist. It is just an idea that I came up with after watching the Mexican President on the Charlie Rose show. Anyway why not give Mexico the jobs as they represent a Free Market Democracy then the Chinese? Of course if it was me I would rather see the industries, factories, etc. here in the states offering jobs for the Americans, but I just don't think we will work for such low wages. Will it help alleviate our debt? Maybe just a little??? |

I am certainly no economist! Do you have any ideas on how to rebound financially? It couldn't be more simple. Withdraw from all free-trade agreements and roll back the Reagan tax cuts for rich people.

Great idea! Let me guess the corporations will never let this happen right? |

How about cut government spending, and waste. raising taxes on the "rich" which is mostly small businesses will just make them raise the price of their service or product, that's a real good plan to help the middle class. |

Oh no we don't want that! I already find food expensive when I go shopping! lol I saw how the government cutting goes between the two parties. They surely are in quarrels because of it. I hate to see more cuts on education though. That is for sure. |
