Its not completely on topic but it is interesting because of the role reversal. If a minority student never won a Miss University at a predominantly white university people would be upset, but if a white person wins one at a mostly minority university people are upset.

Africans were not the only people forced to this country against their will.
How can you say others don't know what this is like? I would argue that the majority of people alive today in this country no nothing of what it was like to be a slave. Just because your ancestors suffered through something horrible doesn't mean you know better than someone else.

please tell me what other people were forced here against their will and made subserviant and unequal for GENERATIONS? (1619 when slaves first arrived to 1865 when the 13th amendment was passed AND until 1965 when the last of the Jim Crow Laws were overruled)

The jews were in concentrations camp and killed and tortured as no other race inhistory and forced into subservience, vikings raped pillaged and murdered other races for financial gain, the asian, the italian, the irish were treated little better than dogs when they arrived......and the American Indian were treated extremely bad by the whites stealing taking everything they owned tarred and feathered hung and dragged bnehind horses as well, show me one race that was treated nicely.....

I was not referring to WORLD HISTORY, I was referring to AMERICAN HISTORY and how it has affected groups in AMERICA, so this doesnt answer the question,

which was about MUCH more than whether people were treated 'nicely'

it was about what other GROUP was forced here against their will AND stripped of their culture and their history, AND treated (under the LAWS OF THE LAND) as subserviant americans for GENERATIONS....

The key word being history. Either way they can still only ask to be treated special or equally not both.

the request has always been to be treated EQUALLY, but what has been delivered has been so UNEQUAL as to need SPECIAL ATTENTION in correcting,,,

If I have three children and I feed two and give the third scraps,, the time will come when , to have EQUAL health, that third child will need some special attention
there's that word again... special... i thought they wanted equal rights? special rights?

no but every single one of them faced abusive treatment and racism were scalped dragged by horses just because Americans did not like them or want them here......and they were made to be subservient to higher classes of Americans...and suffered abuse as well.....you were not treated that way your ancestors were and the other classes do not treat you that want their ancestors did hundreds of years ago....yes you faced racism in the aftermath but so did many other cultures IE Italian Asian Jewish Irish and American Indian and yes the American Indian was treated just as poorly for as many generations and made to act in subservience.......

research the word 'legacy' ..please

and it wasnt just my ancestors, it was also my PARENTS , under jim crow laws,,,

follow the math here,,, one basket has five apples in it (added one at a time for five days), the other (over the same five day period) has only ONE apple placed in it

to make the baskets EQUAL on the sixth day,, the first basket will need no special adjustment(just the usual one apple increase) but the second basket will need special(in comparison to the PAST trend) effort by adding five baskets in one day as opposed to one apple in five

when something has been ESPECIALLY depreciated, it takes SPECIAL efforts to bring it back into balance,,,,or to make it EQUAL

youtube, the haven of lazy thinkers

from miriam webster dictionary
institutional : of or relating to an institution <institutional knowledge>
2: characteristic of or appropriate to institutions <bland institutional cooking> <institutional green walls>

racism : : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2: racial prejudice or discrimination

whether stokely or miriam can put two and two together to make four is irrelevant to the fact that it is still four

and what any of that has to do with the NAACP is still unclear,,,,laugh laugh laugh

minorities have

Then right the wrongs.

How about school choice? How about making it easier to start a business? How about lowering taxes? How about decoupling employment and health / life insurance? How about allowing health insurance companies to sell across state lines? How about legalizing drugs, to eliminate the illegal drug trade, which would lower crime rates, increase tax revenue and create jobs? Those are policies that would apply to everyone equally, but have the most beneficial impact on minorities.

It's not right to say "Laws allowed white people to treat black people badly, so we'll make new laws for the government to treat white people badly to make everything fair".

And not to open a whole can of worms, but African slaves weren't caught by Europeans, they were bought. Africans sold other Africans into slavery for sugar and rum initially and later for money. So if living whites are partially to blame for slavery, blacks are also to blame.

who is condoning treating anyone 'badly'?

this is a bigger issue than mere daily niceties or neighborliness, these issues are at an INSTITUTIONAL level, not a personal one

as to the rest, NAACP supports school choice and lower taxes(although we have pretty low taxes already as a nation compared to most western nations) and business initiatives and less disparate drug sentencing

there isnt an issue NAACP supports that is JUST about blacks, NAACP supports equality BUT many of the issues DISPROPORTIONATELY affect black people

and many of those still work for civil and equal rights, I agree

but there is a different plight african americans have had in AMERICAN history than any of those other groups, however difficult it might be to admit,,,and its a significant enough difference to call out those who might try to belittle or lesson their needs by comparing them to other groups,,,

Except many black people today know nothing about being a slave. So that analogy doesnt fit.

it does fit, people miss the point about the LEGACY of slavery and they overlook that subservant treatment didnt end with slavery but not until a hundred years later after JIM CROW laws,,laws which affected my PARENTS (not some ancient descendants) and therefore affect me by their LEGACY

From the abolishment of slavery times those other races were treated in subservient manners along with african americans and some of them were caucasians......these other races were treated with the same contempts beatings and killings as african americans......which there should not be any designation but American in the US IMO

show me the laws,,,condoning and enforcing substandard status for these 'other races' you keep referring to,,,

I said they were treated just as poorly and the only laws were in the South not in the North the North mostly just did not care until it became important top win a war but there were laws restricting the Indians and they were made subservient if they did not obey those laws, were they not? What about Custer and the last stand? Indian against white man in war were skinned and skins brought home as souvineers..........no less discusting than what happened to the African American stolen from there families raped beaten and killed by virtue of their culture........they were stolen and kept as slaves and made jokes of in wealth caucasian homes......dragged behind horses beaten when they could not keep up........tell me what about this is any prettier.........children stolen from reservations attacks many atrocities......and all ethnicities protected under the civils rights protection acts suffered quite terribly.....
