He's my brother, we were once attached but then separated when we were children. Now I carry him around. What movie am I in?

The container I carry my brother around in is wicker.

Hah! Basket Case!

What's weirder? An adaptation of Dracula in 3D, or the fact that Dario Argento is directing it?

I'm not surprised with the 3D adaptation since everyone seems to be jumping on the 3D bandwagon these days. Dario Argento is another thing though. I wonder how he'll be approaching the story. Quick question, who do you think would be the best to direct such a movie?

Another upcoming film joining the 3D bandwagon may be the new Hellraiser movie.

You think it's going to be a new standard in cinema, since every movie seems to be using it or wanting to?

It seems to be getting there, even television is going that way, almost all new TVs that are coming out are 3D capable. I also think that everything James Cameron does now will be 3D.

Well, we are behind, in terms of technology. In Back to the Future, 2015 is the year when we already have flying cars available commercially. laugh

Now some movies it works for I thought My Bloody Valentine 3D and Piranha 3D were both perfect for 3D....but Dracula? Unless you're making a film like Van Helsing, I guess what I'm saying is some films shouldn't have that gimmick, it's still a gimmick I think. They're saying Argento's Dracula is going to be a serious adaptation, but how serious can you be if you're going to be chucking things at the screen? Though that's not fair since Avatar wasn't filmed like that, Cameron did film it as if he was doing a 2D film.

I remember there was a brief phase for 3D movies back in the 90's, though the 3D effects back then, of course, weren't that advanced and was quite basic. They mostly just used the gimmicky stuff and didn't really add much depth to the movies.

But it was fun in those days with the flimsy paper 3D glasses. I honestly hope it's just a passing fad and it dies off again because too many shite films are getting attention just because they have a 3D version.

The tickets, the movie production, the cinema setup, and the new generation of fancy 3D glasses makes everything more expensive.

And the latest fad, like you've mentioned earlier, 3D televisions. So you can have the 3D experience at home in your living room? The only reason I think it might be cool is because Playstation 3 is going to support 3D games...that might be neat. But I'm pretty sure, however neat it is, it'll also be extremely headache inducing.

I can honestly say I did enjoy Avatar 3D and it didn't give me too much of a headache, but I was a little uncomfortable and I'm pretty sure it would have been equally as good in 2D. I just wanted to see it in 3D as that was the movie that relaunched this whole 3D fad.

I hope, if this is another one of those fads, that it doesn't last too long and that the studios would focus on making GREAT original films instead.

I remember the 3D fad of the 80's when we had a bunch come out around 1983- Jaws 3D, Friday The 13th Part 3D, Amityville 3D, etc.

There's a few channels that are now 3D.

Anaglyph 3D(where you wear the red and blue glasses) was the cheapest way to do it, there was an even better technology and you wore gray lenses, but it was too expensive.

Ok, 80's. I really couldn't recall when it exactly was. laugh

It was a big part of my childhood:smile: I loved all the 3D movies that came out around that time, even got to watch The Creature From The Black Lagoon in 3D.

I was excited about the idea of 3D back then because it was something new, but I found that it gave me massive headaches, so I couldn't enjoy the films for what it was.

A lot of people do, and still do even with today's technology, until this can be remedied not everyone is going to go for everything being 3D.

I would love to have been around in the 1950's when 3D was a really big fad and see films like House Of Wax on the big screen.

Oooh, what an interesting idea. Maybe in the future, they will be able to convert the old movies into 3D? I wonder what that would be like?

I hope they re release ones like The Creature From The Black Lagoon in it's original 3D, like Paramount did when they re released Friday The 13th 3D on DVD.
