Probably not a horror flick, but Clint Eastwoods's
'Play Misty For Me' still gives me nightmares.
You just never think those sweet young things
can be evil.

The original Fatal Attraction! Definitely a classic.

Well, IMO, the coolest weapon used in a horror flick is either Ash's chainsaw (Evil Dead, Army of Darkness), or that weaponized vehicle Ash built in Army Of Darkness to slay the army of Deadites. JMHO. :)

What Horror Movie(s) Scared You The Most As A Child?

The Children aka The Children Of Ravensback. First saw this on Commander USA's Groovie Movies on USA Network back in the 80's. Schoolchildren coming home on a school bus pass through a toxic cloud turning them into zombies. They have black nails and when they hug you you burn up.

Another thing that terrified me as a kid was the clown doll in the movie Poltergeist (1982). Remember that scene where he was seated in a chair in Robbie's bedroom? Haha. Never liked clowns ever since.

Another clown I was terrified of was Pennywise, played by Tim Curry. In one of the better Stephen King novel adaptations, not to mention one of the better made-for-TV horror mini-series, he stole the show as the tormenting Pennywise the Clown. Also heard that the book is in the early stages of getting the big-screen movie treatment, with producers eyeing a 2011 release. I just don't know who can top Curry’s portrayal. On the DVD commentary track in the 1990 mini-series, the actors said that Curry’s characterization of Pennywise was so creepy and realistic that everyone avoided him during the filming.

There's also rumors of a theatrical adaptation of It in the works- I hope this turns out well...I found the miniseries very underwhelming, and all the people the praise seem to be able to only find one good thing about it- Tim Curry, and take him out of the miniseries you would have nothing.

It the miniseries had to cut too much out because of TV, budget, and effects constraints.

What's weirder? An adaptation of Dracula in 3D, or the fact that Dario Argento is directing it?

Hi, Ese! That's my favorite scene in the movie. laugh

The idea of eating a living person's brain as punishment is a reference to Dante's Inferno where Count Ugolino does this to Archbishop Ruggieri in hell. This makes sense because Lecter/Fell is depicted as a Dante Alighieri expert in this movie. A special animatronic puppet of Ray Liotta was used for some parts of the brain-eating scene. Liotta himself has said that he's not sure exactly which shots are him or the puppet, and that what he ate was actually chicken meat. :)

I'm not surprised with the 3D adaptation since everyone seems to be jumping on the 3D bandwagon these days. Dario Argento is another thing though. I wonder how he'll be approaching the story. Quick question, who do you think would be the best to direct such a movie?

I have to agree with one of the comments on that article, whoever wrote it obviously has never read Dracula, or seen the 1992 Bram Stoker's Dracula, the article's author made the comment that Dracula 3D could only be a better adaptation as if the '92 film was a bad one...I think Bram Stoker's Dracula is the closest we've ever had, Gary Oldman the best Dracula we've ever had, and the film itself is visually stunning. But most people seem to only focus on Keanu Reeve's accent and nothing else.

Director's I think could be good to do a film version- E. Elias Merhige(who did Shadow Of The Vampire), Juan Antonio Bayona(who did The Orphanage)...I would like the director to have the same love for Dracula that Peter Jackson had for Lord Of The Rings.

Shadow of a Vampire was great! And I couldn't agree with you more on wishing they would give the same dedication as Peter Jackson did with Lord of the Rings. My pick would be Tobe Hooper. I loved what he did with Salem's Lot, among others.

For current movies Hooper's The Toolbox Murders I really liked, but most of his films have been hit or miss for me.
