i don't see a problem with disagreeing with someone whether they are a newbie or not...

i mean would you rather we all sugarcoated and agreed with everything they said for their first week in a forum?

i will be completely kind and cordeal to someone whether they are new or not but i will not hold back my opinion in a place made for the expression of just that.

now if its being done just to be a bully and a jerk then there's a problem.

and that needs to be cut off.

Expressing an opinion and/or disagreeing are worlds apart from "ganging up on a newbie" as is the topic of this thread. Expressing an opnion within the forum rules is not only condoned, but encouraged. "Ganging up' on a newbie or anyone else here is against the rules...period.

thats exactly what i was trying to say. :p lol

I have noticed though there are a select few on here that find that if you disagree with their opinion they immediately take it as a personal attack. I've since found myself avoiding threads with them even posting. in a perfect world, all opinion would be respected. but its not always like that.

but yes you said exactly what i was trying to say.

its unfair and wrong to pick on anyone like a freakin kid in a schoolyard. its like grow up.

offtopic lilbug you changed your pic! its cute. and i'm not just kissin mod @ss. lol

LOL! Well on that note, it is waaaaaaay past my bedtime...let's all just be kind to one another...newbie or not... just embrace the experience and grow, learn from it.

'Night...sweet dreams when ya get there. flowers

i'll gang up on someone with 50,000 posts too if i feel they've insulted a friend.

i don't let stuff like that go by in real life, why would i online?

maybe because

FORUM RULES

1) Do not attack/slam/insult others. You can discuss the message or topic, but not the messenger - NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are attacked by another user, and you reciprocate, YOU will also be subject to the same consequences. Defending yourself, defending a friend, etc. are NOT excuses. Violations of this rule are taken very seriously and may result in being banned without warning!

but hey.........

ever drive 60 mph in a 55 zone?

i didn't say it was right, but i did say i'd still do it.

~~~~
if you watched a man hit a woman, would you interfere, even if it meant hitting him?
or would you be cowardly and walk away just in case you got punished for it?
~~~~

i know this isn't the correct answer, especially not what the mods are looking for, but i would rather be reprimanded, even booted, than walk away from something in which i believe.

saying that, if i ever did get banned for bashing, i would totally understand and accept it as being part of the rules.

I did see a man beating up a woman in a casino parking lot. I was with a date and this guy was grabbing her and throwing her around and ended up slamming her head into the car. I calmly walked up to him and slammed his head into the car, looked at the lady and said," good day Ma'am," as I turned to walk away , she jumped on my back and started screaming at me. I gently but forcefully pulled her off, walked back over to the guy and said, sorry to interrupt you disciplining your child. I walked away. Dont know whatever happened with that, but when you bite the hand that protects you, it is gonna withdraw.

Everybody as the right to be here, ask whatever question they desire and express their opinion if it's all done with respect.

If it's something that I have no input to I stay out while some will say whatever just to say something, to each is own as long as it's done with respect.

who said i didn't want an answer?

beside the fact it was obviously a rhetorical question, i've no problem defending my position (even though i would hardly say that i am a 'basher'

when was the last time you castigated a friend for being rude to a noob?

Firstly, by the timing of your thread and the timing of your other post on another thread I'm guessing I know what this is about and who it is about.

Secondly, the person gave an Opinion as to why they are here...just like a few did. This little newbie was calling people "trolling", telling them where they can't post, and calling people out BY NAME on the thread.

Being a newbie doesn't necessarily have a whole lot to do with it. Many young 20-somethings, predominantly male, who sign up on this SOCIAL site come onto the forums with all the arrogance in the world, acting like they own the dump. There are often many times that a newbie will sign up here thinking this is AdultFriendFinder with their very first post/thread. The bottom line is, regardless if it's a newbie or a veteran, if someone comes on the boards acting like a d!ck, they will in turn be treated as such. I have never apologized for taking someone to task who desperately needed it, and I refuse to play Pollyanna just for the sake of not hurting somebody's little feelers. If they have it coming, I'll be happy to give it to them, and that goes not only for online, but in the real world as well. I don't suffer fools well. If that is considered rude, then so be it, but I will not apologize for that. What you sow, so shall you reap, and I'd rather take a stand for something than fall for anything.

bigsmile don't try to create drama where there isn't any bigsmile

this had been something i was noticing for a loong time. don't make it seem like i'm referring to any one person or group of people in particular bigsmile

i'd like to also ask you the same question if i may... when was the last time you defended a newbie when a friend or one of the regulars was rude to him/her?

No drama here dear. Just calling the time line as I see it.

As for defending a newbie, I've done it plenty of times. I've seen what you speak of in the welcome area and based on a picture (generally) the person is mocked.
