I mainly say the same thing every time I greet a newbie. Sometimes I add a little advice. I haven't really paid attention to the gang up...maybe on members that are too cocky...but that's it. What about the ones with a little cocky? |

I think anyone that is rude on here gets jumped on, regardless of who they are, and if they do it repeatedly, they do become targets!! There is a difference between kidding around amoung friends and being down right nasty!!

i'll gang up on someone with 50,000 posts too if i feel they've insulted a friend. i don't let stuff like that go by in real life, why would i online? when was the last time you castigated a friend for being rude to a noob? today actually, on another dating site. i offered to bake the newbie a pie. however, most times the 'noob' has a holier-than-thou attitude and probably deserves the being taken down a notch or two. if the 'friend' is doing this on a regular and undeserving basis, then they probably wouldn't be classified by me as a friend. |

If you walk into a bar acting like a *BLEEP*, you can expect to recieve a punch in the face.
Here we can only dish out written punches in the faces. Sometimes people go out to the bar and do nothing wrong, and still get a punch in the face. If anyone else has any more punch in the face analogies, please feel free to add them. |

well i guess you're a rare breed then. in general, i see a lot more rudeness meted out to the newbies than the other way around. kudos to you if you don't employ that double standard though. I do try quite hard to be equally rude to both the newbies and the oldies. |

True And sometimes the punchee tells stories to the authorities, and the puncher gets punched in the face by them. |

am i the only one who notices that SOME of you guys gang up on newbies? whether it be for perceived rudeness toward a friend (in which case there is a double standard because there is no backlash when the experienced minglers are rude to newbies) or because they posted a thread that may have been done before many times but is new to them... the reasons vary but i've noticed an air of condescension sometimes... just wondering what you guys thought... maybe i'm crazy? (i'm not sure if this thread is against the rules, if it is i apologize) I understand what you are saying Jasmine. But the experienced Mingler have to obey the rules too,and they do face consequences when they go over the line. Trust me |
