to be honest there are
3 good reasons that i went form pentecostal to agnostic.
1 i refuse to accept teh one world voice/one world choice of teh end times
2 i will never respect anyone who thinks george w bush was a decent president and tells me he did gods work.
3 churchs feed you there own man made dogma of endless crap and doctrine, in other words their way of tricking you outta every dime you get for some quick to dispose of ministy purpose.

I guess I don't get it

you say you turn your back on God but then the reasons you list are all issues you have with men

Men make God, or gods, in their own image.

I think he meant a literal copy from the bible not a summarized paragraph. Though I agree something as old as the bible has been translated and transliterated so many times theres bound to be differences between one language and another though I believe the overall message hasn't itself been changed.

And the over all message is?

Be kind, you don't need ancient scriptures to tell you how to live, your not idiots (most of you anyway)!

Care
Share
Play fair
Love One another

oh, how I wish the world at large believed and lived that...

The church is within you - Jesus bigsmile

What it seems like you are confused about what is religion and what isn't. You think religion is what you see in the TV or hear in the news. You think, religion means you gotta dress up in a specific way and perform specific ceremonies in a specific place and you gotta read a specific book.

My best suggestion is to educate yourself more.

I see your point, and since I don't place any faith at all in religion, why do people do it? Why the clothes, the words and ceromonies? Is it merely a way to connect with others in public as well as connect to a personnal god?

The clothes, yeah, I don't get those either. Why don't all people who believe that God made them walk around naked? If they truly believe "God don't make no junk", why don't they be proud of what God gave them and want to show it off?

I do believe in God as well...I am sorry you got hurt or angered...I have been both as well...but God is not to blame...

God always gets all the glory but never the blame, when it goes wrong it's human faults when it goes well it's the almighty that was there to help. what what what

There is shame in nakedness. If you think about it, if we all walked around naked, we'd be so preoccupied with sex that we would break the very laws and morals that we stand to preserve. It would literally be Sodom and Gomorrah and Ancient Rome all over again. And at the present time we are not far from it.

If we all walked around naked we'ed be trying to stop the weeds and brambles from poking holes in our junk...

WAY to busy to worry bout anything but finding something to protect them with...

THEN we can hunt sex.bigsmile

My friend, my fellow Adama,
let us regain the stolen Paradise,
and reclaim earth’s garden,
we have tasted the fruit
of knowledge, we are as gods.
Look beyond the veil of maya,
draw back the flimsy curtain,
expose the lizard wizard.

God is not love, man is love.
God is a lie, a magician’s trick,
a device for divide and conquer,
the hidden sleight-of-hand
of the vampire brood.
We are amnesiacs, stacked
naked and pell-mell in
the slave ship of State.

ah..no. In less than 3 generations, no one would care. In any case, that wasn't the point.
Also, if the penalty for a sex crime was a slow death by torture, on tv, a. great incentive to not commit that crime, b. you'd eventually run out of those that would.

waving Shame? Surely there is more to it than such a base emotion, an emotion that straight away points to the fact that we are feeling guilty for something....spock

To address your first question you should read this article. http://doesthebiblecondonenudism.blogspot.com/2007/11/does-bible-condone-nudism.html

As for the second part yes Rome is the seat of the catholic church one of the major christian denominations. He was referring to the Rome of the past. Because of Rome is why Easter bunny is around at Easter. Here is a short paraphrased version of what happened. During Easter Romans would celebrate the Goddess of fertility. What better way to celebrate the Goddess of fertility the a weekend orgy of all your closest friends. So you would spend a couple weeks having sex with whomever and whenever you wanted. Well during this time you have Christians who are told to abstain from sex. So how do they blend in a community that is very intolerant( i.e death for not conforming)? Have your own party in your home during the same time but celebrate the death of Christ. As time went on celebration of different saints was added to coincide with Roman Gods in order to protect the Christians during this time.

So to wrap up plan an authentic Easter next year. Anyone game? jk

Anyone who is hurt or angered by God eventually goes back to the fold... for it is impossible to have feelings for/about someone or something that you don't believe is there.

Well thought out...

More fits the facts in my humble eyes than other explantions. Thanks
