thomas...it is their right to chose. not mine, the governemnts or yours. just because something isn't for me (or even if something goes angainst what I might believe in) doesn't mean everyone has to go along with me

although if they did the world would be a nicer place for me to live in laugh

That is what is so ironic about the whole thing. We have already established that marriage is a Christian tradition and has no roots at all with the government.Yet you have all these gays and Atheist screaming bloody murder anytime you have a Christian song sang at a school or Christmas lights in a town. The say over and over separation of church and state, separation of church and state.

So how does it make sense if they want the separation of church and state to have the government butt in to a Christian tradition and change those laws to fit their own agenda? It is hypocrital at its worst.Neither the gays or the Government should tell Christians what they need to do or believe especially since the majority have already ruled many times to butt out.

honestly WHO THE F!CK CARES!!!! she gave an OPINION one that she BELIEVED she stated that it was HER OWN, she was not trying to FORCE her views on anybody else she even said she is glad people have a right to CHOOSE THEMSELVES she did nothing wrong. But however, the pro-gay community wanted to FORCE their own views on people because THEIR opinion is the only one WE ARE ALLOWED TO CHOSE! COME ON PEOPLE! now if she sat up their and said "i think gay marriage should be banned, it's immoral, people shouldn't have a right to choose" or anything close to that I'd agree. However, it was HER OWN OPINION get the F!CK over your pretentious phony-self-righteous selves and LET IT DIE!

Actually she did say those things just in different words. Her whole comment was that marriage should be between a man and a woman and that is the way she was raised, was a put down, or didn't you notice. If you are straight you may not have noticed that. One doesn't have to say the word immoral to suggest it, or to get the point across. She said what shes been taught, but no one can convince me that at her age she really has a clue what it would mean for the otherside.

I never saw anyone say she was forced to say anything. And by the way a lot of people care on both sides of this issue, however some could care less about one particular side. But you can bet that the side that has to fight does care. And I especially care when a member of my community does something this stupid.

None of this would have happened if Perez wasn't an unconscious twit in the first place, he put the bullet in the gun and handed it to her to shoot at the audience.

I wouldn't be suprised if I was the only gay that thought he was an idiot.

ok, let's review the facts

FACT: she stated it was her opinion
FACT: She said she was glad she was in a country where people choose
FACT: We are supposed to have freedom of speech.
FACT: Perez asked for her opinion

Question: Why isn't she allowed to have an opinion opposite yours?

Maybe you should reread the whole thread, isaac, really. I simply stated what I thought of her opinion, not that I thought she should not have one, or have the right to one. Her stating that she lived in a country where people choose is not quite accurate, unless I am missing something here, but matters little because the rest of her comments were a put down anyway.

But again I think you would have to be gay to notice. If someone says 'thats the way I was raised' it suggests that others were raised wrong. Did you not notice that? Or am I the only one. Course I could be because I am probably the only gay in this thread right now.

I honor free speech, just as she said what she did, I am allowed to say what I have, where's the problem with free speech?

As for Perez, well you alread know what I think of him.

isaac....according to who is it immoral??? your religious beliefs??? well not everyone has the same beliefs

If you read it in context i said if she had stated "i think gay marriage should be banned, it's immoral, people shouldn't have a right to choose" or anything close to that" it is a view that is often taken by the opposition. I never said it was my view, and I never said that it wasn't either. It was a generalized statement often stated by the opposition. So please don't try to turn this into a religious forum.

I don't agree that it was a put down. And for you to say that if I'm straight I wouldn't notice. Man, common on now. You getting absurd with those type comments.

Maybe you should listen to the video:

http://www.kansascity.com/932/story/1151831.html

scroll down to find. This one has the best audio. Hear the reaction of both proponets of gay marriage and anti gay marriage proponets cheer at she makes her comments.

If you didn't notice that is why you and I can not relate to eachother. simple as that. I can't do videos because I have dial up right now and I won't wait an hour for something to load. Why do I need to tune in to the cheers. I am sure she got cheers, I doubt if there we too many booers, frankly. So what does that mean? That I am unaware of how you and others feel? Want to rub it in maybe?

Of course you would thing I am absurd, I have no doubt about that.

I think you are disrespecting this girl just like Perez did. You are interpreting the intent of her words to fit your belief. I see it as her attempt not to offend either side. In fact, some could construe her comment that she was raised to be that way sort of an apology to the gay community for feeling that marriage should be only between a man and a woman.

Beauty contests...now there's a grand Christian tradition!

Perez Hilton? Fluff...someone who makes a living yapping it seems about other people who do not matter.

The cult of personality haha

He set her up and she answered badly.

Long and short of it is they are both seemingly vapid asses who no more represent the typical American than do Rosie the Riveter and Uncle Sam. (With apologies to the fictional Rosie and Sam)To assert there is some vast conspiracy to forward a political agenda via her loss is as asinine as those who look at the pageant system and assert it should be abolished because it furthers the image of women as nothing more than sex objects.

These views are reactionary and extreme.

From a practical view every contestant answering questions should have been ready for a wide variety of questions. The questions by the way were selected from a fishbowl by the girl. So, to assert she was set up seems silly.

If you decide to enter a cattle call then be ready.

Still, do not despair...the poor little thing has a pre-written ticket to be the darling of the right now. Appearing at rallies and in "oh poor me for standing up for my morals" appearances.

The whole thing is a disgusting and sickening dog and pony show that lessens the real issue.

Keep swallowing that hook!

You have ever right to think what you do and so does she, and I have the right to comment on her words. You just don't like what I read of them. I don't much care what SOME 'could' construe, I was simply stating what I thought. When she used the words, I THINK, Instead of the words, I FEEL that struck me. When she used the words The way I was raised that too struck me.. it struck you exactly as I would expect of someone that beleives as you do.

You think I am disrespting her, I think I question her beliefs, but then who are you to tell me I can't. I can question the government that affects my life, but I cant' question the beliefs that come from the religious establishment that also affects my life? That's very interesting.

I love being part of millions of people who have the power to not only overide the laws of governers, cities and states, but also the power to veto a descison by the federal supreme court.Sorry but the gays have little or no power compared to the Chrisitans. But you keep fighting your losing cause. It's good for raising church attendance.

No it doesn't mean you can't be objective, it mean you aren't at the moment being objective in my opinion only. The fact is that you didn't notice. It stood out to me like a sore thumb, and that is to be expected. Some straight people can empathise more for some reason, others can't.

To be honest I am not sure I see hypocrisy, I was raised christian myself. So if you think I don't know what people think on all sides of this you would be wrong.

I have heard the phrase many times that 'this is the way I was raised', and I know exactly what they meant even when they didn't realize it themselves. A neighbor once said I was raised in a good christian family, then she caught herself and apologized to me, because she didn't really mean it that way. But I told her not big deal, and that she did frankly mean it that way, and she was programmed to believe just that, and I told her that is the way you were raised to believe. Hell so was I. That doesn't mean that it's right and I should be able to say that, just as some would say the opposite.

Getting kinda tired now, isaac, getting too old for this topic and repeating myself endlessly, but I hope I made some sense.

What kinda argument is that. I say the same back at you. You won't never get why marriage should be between a man and a woman.

No I will not, your right. Your too busy focusing on body parts. Marriage is alot more than that.

BS on the body parts.

I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. You can't seem to respect the rights of others to feel this way.

Since gays can not reproduce naturally they would eventually die out.So no matter what you belive in gays were never meant to be together either in human or animal form.

Why is it to be expected? are you somehow superior to me in intuition because you happen to be a homosexual?

Or perhaps is it that you are reading into things that aren't there to suit your own personal agenda?

I'm happy for you, Thomas. We know just how powerful the christians are, and we will keep fighting despite your attempts to stop us. And if fear fills the pews at church it won't be due to fear of gays, it will be because this is the way they have been filled for centuries.

Lucky for me not all christians are like you. Nor are all christians afraid of the church and it's power over them.
