Perez Hilton Calls Carrie Prejean, Miss California, A "Dumb *****" for Saying Marriage Should be Between a Man and a Woman During Miss USA Pageant
Posted by Janet Shan

I cannot understand why gays and lesbians feel that they must push their sexual orientation in our faces. I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. They can't seem to respect the rights of others to feel that way. Did Perez Hilton, who asked the question about gay marriage to Miss California, Carrie Prejean, video-blogged on his website calling her a "dumb *****." Was that really necessary? Don't we have a right in this country to our own opinion?

http://blackpoliticalthought.blogspot.com/2009/04/perez-hilton-calls-carrie-prejean-miss.html

Amen, lady. I agree with you.

Some folks would'nt not get the point if they were sitting on it. It's not about pushing sexual orientation. But frankly I am sick of explaining it...

Some folks are tired of the explanations too. Yeah, you don't get it either. It a shame she lost the crown for what she believed in.
I'm betting that the only reason Mr A**Hole Perez asked that question was because he thought he was going to get a different answer and that he could use the Miss USA pagent winner to promote gay marriage. After all, that proposition has been defeated twice in California. Too bad Perez came out looking like an idiot.

Understood.

It isn't about your personal views, it is about your pushing your personal views on the rest of humanity.

It is okay to believe you personally will never marry in your same sex, it is prejudice to push that belief on all of humanity.

So why isn't the opposite of what you just said just as important for people that do not believe in gay marriage? Many that do not believe in gay marriage feel like those that do are pushing their personal views on the rest of humanity. I could also turn that around and say, it would be prejudice to push gay marriage views on all of humanity.

Some folks are mighty tired of people that don't get it too, so wer'e even. So she lost for 'that', or is that what you would like to think she lost over that..

Blame the gay question for her lose, oh that is precious. Thanks for the laugh. You have no bloody clue anymore than I do why perez asked the question or what his motive was, by typical of you to offer the standard. I personally think he should not have asked it, so we agree he's an a**hole. Of course with his money I doubt he cares what you or I think of him.

she could have lost because of the controversy of those watching...just like when Vannesa Williams had to give up her crown for doing porn in her past.

she dumbled on the answer (IMO) showing she knew it would bite her in the butt either way she answered.

the judge is the one that asked her and she answered...blame the idiot that asked the question

Ok how does this work for you. I don't believe people should be straight. Men and women rarely even like eachother over the long haul, therefore I don't believe in straight marriage, and therefore don't support it. And further more because it turns me off, there should be a law that bans it, how dare they push their agenda on the rest of us. Probably still don't get it yet huh?..

You can believe anything you want, but to prevent me from marrying my partner because of your personal beliefs is just plain wrong.

i wonder if this all would be different to people if her response was the opposite of what she did say?

I don't see how she is pushing anything when she was asked the question. she gave her opinion....it's the judge that could be thought of pushing something as well as the one who wrote the questions (if different than the judge). they are the ones at fault and they should have known it was a controversial topic and would cause what happened

Vanessa William didn't do porn. She just possed nude for a couple of pictures in which she didn't think it would go out in public.

This lost her the crown.

I still believe she was and is one of the most beautiful women in the world and that jerk who ruined her crown did it only to make some money.

For me she will always be a miss americadrinker

Homosexuals and heterosexuals both have the same rights to marriage. A heterosexual is able to marry a person of the opposite sex. A homosexual is also able to marry a person of the opposite sex. A heterosexual is unable to marry a person of the same sex, just like a homosexual is unable to marry a person of same sex. Both heterosexuals and homosexuals henceforth have the right to marry a person of the opposite sex, but both heterosexuals and homosexuals are unable to marry a person of the same sex. Heterosexuals CHOOSE to marry people of opposite sex. However, homosexuals do not CHOOSE to marry people of the opposite sex, so the right is not being taken away from them.

I found this from Access Hollywood I believe

During the show, Perez asked Carrie, "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?"

"Well I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. Um, we live in a land that you can choose same sex marriage or opposite marriage and, you know what, in my country and in, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman," Carrie said to a mix of boos and applause. "No offense to anybody out there. But that's how I was raised and that's how I think that it should be between a man and a woman."

Carrie's answer to the hot button question cost her the crown - at least according to Perez.

"The way miss California answered her question lost her the crown, without a doubt!" Perez told Access Hollywood after the pageant. "Never before that I'm aware of has a contestant been booed at Miss USA."

Just to set the record straight (HA HA) there was much cheering also for her answer. The look on Perez's face after her answer told the whole story. It is likely that he expected a much different answer and was maybe using the Miss USA pageant to promote gay marriage especially since prop 8 had failed in California twice.

Well it looks like the majority of the crowd believe in same sex marriage if that had lost her the crown.

What is important for her is she told the truth of how she feels about it. There are many around the world that believe that a marriage should only be between a man and woman, but at the instant the crowd and the ones who voted didn't like her reply.

yet I am sure she had more questions besides just this one right? I mean how did she answer the other questions? How did she speak in general? Did she stutter or have alot of huhs and awws inbetween her sentences? How was her posture and smile. Was it a fake smile or geniune. Is she polite and so forth is what judges look at also.

In the end she lost. What is the big deal?

The competition is big and the woman all look stunningly beautiful.

I still think Vanessa William can blow all of them awaylaugh

I'm sure he did expect something different. i did read somewhere (will have to find it) how he says...this is what she should have said. even he said it cost her the title....but yet HE asked the question. would she have won if the answer was the opposite?

she didn't push anything...she answered the question asked of her

In that case Perez is a complete ass for even suggesting that particular question at a pagent no less. And if he expected the opposite answer he's still an ass. Why the hell would you ask that question at a pagent as if it were a stage for world affairs.

Ok now I am totally ticked off at Perez, what a jerk, even if her answer was even more lame than it was, that should be not reason for her to lose. How the hell did the other judges authorize such a loaded question?

Certainly, she would have won. She had the highest score going into that question I believe.

I'm not sure the other judges knew the questions. I'm not sure who writes them in that pageant. but this is what I was trying to say earlier.

I do question the question though and wonder if it wasn't to promote something or to trap her. Perez is openingly gay himself....so his question makes me kinda wonder about him personally

Boy some folks really just don't get it. But we don't worry about folks who don't get it because they never will.
