did ANYONE even read the links I provided or did I waste my time?

I read them Rose.

Sorry Dragoness...no disrespect but, I fully concur with Yellow's assesment.

If no one stand up and makes a change..then nothing changes.

I agree with you on this one. Everyone needs to stand up and be heard. The processes for that are through our representative government that is made up of us and controlled by us.

It is not close to similar. Noone is fighting against taxation without representation.

Again I did not say exactly. So you agree with how all your money is being spent by the fed gov? Sure we have representation, but I doubt many of the people think that their views are being represented. And surely states like texas don't feel they are getting fair representation. Is is SIMILAR like it or not.

Texas has representation in our government. All states are functioning participatories in this United States. They are represented in the government fairly just like all other states are.

They are suppose to but with the amount of graft, pork, favoritism and the like I would have to seriously disagree with you about the amount of fairness to it.

If no one stands up and makes a change..then nothing changes. If the colonists just shut thier mouths...took it up the @ss...and did nothing more than send delegations to the king...we damned sure would be a protectorate of a European nation. England would have never given up its claim to natural resources available on American soil..nor the taxation of it's American subjects.

Did England have overwhelming Naval and Army power and resources? Absolutely.

Did the dirt poor colonists have a chance against such an advanced military power who controlled all the shipping lanes at that point...Vegas would say that they wouldn't have a chance...

but you know...alot of the people who said "You can't do that!" were wrong....

and that is the exact reason we are here talking today.

So now, the past repeats it's self...

once again there is the "You can't do that"... "You can't fight the Government" ..."You couldn't win against the armed forces of the United States".

I look to the past...and I disagree.

I do not have to look back very far...

We had our @ss handed to us in Viet Nam due to poor leadership.
Same is true of Afghanistan.
No one is out of the woods in Iraq...no matter what our budget is. No matter the technology available.

I think it might be a good idea for Texas to leave us in peace. For one thing we would get better public school textbooks that don't have to alter science so as not to offend all those crazy creation lovers.

Text book selection is not made on a federal basis it's made state by state and county by county, so wtf are you talking about?

Texas has the largest market so most states are forced to buy books that adhere to that dumbass market.

So..slightly off topic...(this is a post I started and if people can question Native American tribal affairs and lineages here...I can make a simple statement)

Tonight in Texas...the storms have blown through...the night is clear and clean...there are billions of stars in the sky..and my idiot female dogs are yipping and yowling to the coyotes just outside the yard...(Black Betty is in heat)

Yep, my dogs speak coyote' and English...they bark completely differently at American dogs....it is wierd.

Not sure about enderra's numbers but, he ain't far off...Texas has a big @ssed population...and a huge economy.

except for the "dumb-@ssed" comment...I agree.

Please note...I doubt you would use those words in the presence of anyone I personally know my good man. I will do the right thing and try to be more courteous to you than you are to the people I love that you are referring to...that is known as "Southern Hospitality"..obviously, that is a concept foriegn to some people.

I might be the single largest market, but the market it place in whole is infinitely larger than that one state, so unless you got something to back up that I'm calling this total BS. If anything has more control it would have to be the bible belt and frankly I wouldn't even buy that.

Let em go for all I care. That jerkoff Bush would no longer be an American and the Republicans would lose 2 seats in the Senate.

I agree...and as a Texan we could make Bush accountable for the sh*t he has done without the interference of the American judicial system to bargain for a legal extension or appeal......

Well that's a maybe on Bush's nationality since he has more than one residence. And while I certainly wouldn't mind the loss of him as an American citizen there's far more to consider. The negative financial impact to both Tx and the US would be huge... and that assumes it could be done without a war in which case it could devastating.

Sorry doll...only a limited number of us will actually read those....why should the ones from out of state bother to read more information? Thier minds are already made up.

What's interesting to consider is what Obama would do. You know he has studied Lincoln in depth and is influenced by him. Of course, Lincoln is the only president who has ever had to deal with secession.
