Lindy's problem is she is quick to strike out with her own beliefs, but when countered gets all huffy and cry's foul.

You have the right to your own ideas, and beliefs, and to express them all you want and really in whatever way you want (irregardless of forums policy even this isn't about consequences but about what you CAN do) But so does everyone else, so get over it already!

Lindy if you never mention your right to make these comments, then no one will reply about your right to make them . . . come on lady figure it out already . . . .

Perhaps you should follow your own advice....
I do, can you reiterate what you think my advice is? Because you have made this same very post many times when no advice was given . . . Im not giving you advice I am actually making fun of you.

Not exactly, a brick wall doesn't tend to make you wish you hadn't had the conversation in the first place, doesn't leave you feeling inferior or disordered.

So apologize to that brick wall right now missy!!! rofl

Considering many of my neighbors have beliefs such as yours lyndyy, there's really no way we can defend ourselves. Can we at least agree on that? Because if you really believe as you do, then there really isn't anything we can say to help you to see things from our point of view. Right?

I just wonder seriously why you posted to this topic after first proclaiming you are against it?

I think at this point the topic has just degraded into an US verses THEM and that never gets us anywhere anyway.

I think its worth commenting...

... about how many (self-proclaimed) "Christians" on this board are addicted to argumentative behavior, and at every slight political reason, chime in as if they speak with the mouth of God.

Thus inviting people to bad mouth them... and then wondering why they don't find "Christian Rights" here... ummm... sort of like Gay people wanting "Gay Rights." (???)

What is it in their mental make-up that causes them to invite this bashing of their faith? (or belief system)

What is it in the mental make-up that causes people to bash that same faith? (or belief system)

It amazes me to find people arguing so bitterly about such a wide variety of stuff.

I really think it isn't "in the name of God" these types argue on and on endlessly, but it is in the very bitterness of their soul that they have allowed the world to enter in and convert them to be such argumentative types.

There are a million more productive things to do with one's life the to extinguish life's precious time here on this web site heaped nearly irretrievably in some kind of completely vain argument.

I think I can observe this for all people....

... arguing feeds the flesh.

And for a faith that is taught to deny the flesh, this might be worth consideration. Then maybe one would not be wondering why (ahem) <quote-unquote> "Christians" are being bad mouthed in every corner of this web site.

Vanity, vanity, all is vanity. There is no new thing under the sun.

IS IT RIGHT TO BAD MOUTH A CHRISTIAN FOR THE CHRISTIAN'S OPINION?

THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.....AGAIN CHRISTIANS ARE VERY ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINIONS AND DO NOT HAVE TO CONFORM TO NON CHRISTIANS.......

LINDYY

You are right that you are entitled to your opinion and that everyone has the right to free speach. But, having read what you've said in most of your posts- the world has to conform to your opinions- including your christian ones.

Basically (after reading the whole thread) one can only come to that conclusion...

I won't fight with you anymore as it's pointless, but I'll leave you with a bit of wisdom I've learned.

"What works for one person does not always work for another." Or in a more simplified way: Not everyone will come to Christ by the same means.

Your opinions on homosexuality might not work for others and if you don't want to be called out on it then quit posting on threads that involve it- it's that simple. I'm not trying to silence you but don't play the victim here.

If you didn't want to be singled out then you wouldn't. That's called personal responsibility. And people who know what that is change the channel on the television when something they don't like or a program that attacks their belief's come on that station.

I am glad you admitted you have been "fighting" instead of debating.

And as I have stated before, if one does not like my posting, simply do not read my posts....and I will continue to post according to my Christian view point....no one has the right to tell me to stop posting

I do NOT tell others to leave the thread and go to another....that is an attempt to dominate....

I have yet to bash anyone, I have simply posted scripture from the Bible which is how I base my opinions and live my life.....perhaps others do not like my opinion because it is in total contrast to what they believe....but just the same...I am entitled to my opinion and state it without this type of a post being made directly to me.....

Lindyy

oops  You should probably read this: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Debate

Check out the synonyms for the word debate...Yes I was "fighting" with you. Just like you "fight" everyone else.

First, I am a legal secretary...........read between the lines...........

AND I HAVE COMPLETE FAITH IN OUR JUDICIAL SYSTEM, and trust the decisions made by our US Supreme Court.......THEY OBVIOUSLY KNOW MORE THAN YOU....

YOU SHOW ME a case where gays/lesbians have had their constitutional rights violated......this should be interesting.......

AND HERE WE GO – All this only took me 15 minutes and another 20 to organize and write it up JUST FOR YOU. There are a great many more examples, but YOU should be use to doing research - I’m not even a legal secretary - my source is the internet what options do have? In your position I would expect a bit more from you.

WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court sidestepped a dispute over gay marriage on Monday, rejecting a challenge by conservative groups to the status of Massachusetts as the only state that sanctions same-sex marriages.
Justices had been asked to overturn a year-old decision by the Massachusetts high court that legalized gay marriage. They declined, without comment.

Supreme Court unlikely to hear gay cases this year
Conservative group seeks review of lesbian’s child visitation rights
CHRIS JOHNSON
Friday, October 17, 2008
A conservative legal group is unlikely to convince the U.S. Supreme Court to review a Virginia child visitation rights case involving lesbian parents, according to legal experts.

The petition says that the U.S. Supreme Court should take the case because requiring Virginia to recognize the Vermont court’s visitation rights ruling conflicts with the Defense of Marriage Act.
But Jon Davidson, legal director for Lambda Legal, said the U.S. Supreme Court has turned down four petitions to hear the Miller case and is unlikely to take up the case based on the recent petition.

He said the Liberty Counsel also “missed their deadline” to have the U.S. Supreme Court hear the case based on the issue presented in the petition.

“I also think that the court is not itching to get a lesbian or gay custody case in front of them right now,” he said. “They don’t hear very many custody cases to begin with and I just don’t think they will see it as a pressing issue.”

The following two are related – WHY “SHE ASKS” WOULD I INCLUDED THEM? They are obviously not about gays – but about free speech?

Let me tell you why – because it’s not about free speech – it’s about a country that legalizes prejudice as being a right, which leads to discrimination, and state laws that uphold it by waving off it’s importance.

Supreme Court's review sought in anti-gay fliers case

Oakland Tribune, Jun 6, 2007 by STAFF REPORT
Two Oakland city workers who claim their civil rights were violated by the removal of their anti-homosexuality flier from a workplace bulletin board have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review their case.

Lawyers for Regina Rederford and Robin Christy petitioned the high court Monday to review the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals' decision in March that the city's action hadn't violated their First Amendment rights.

Rederford and Christy posted a flier in 2003 in their office at Oakland's Community and Economic Development Agency promoting their Good News Employee Association. The flier urged people to "preserve our workplace with integrity" and said their association "is a forum for people of faith to express their views on contemporary issues of the day with respect for the natural family, marriage and family values."

NORTH COUNTY ---- Attorneys for a brother and sister suing the Poway school district over the way Poway High School officials responded to a T-shirt that labeled homosexuality as "shameful" have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review part of their case.

Tyler Chase Harper, then a sophomore at Poway High School, wore the controversial shirt to school in April 2004, the day after a campus group held a "Day of Silence" to promote tolerance of homosexual, bisexual and transgendered students.

US SUPREME COURT LETS STAND AN IMPORTANT RULING AFFECTING LESBIANS USING DONOR SEMEN
The US Supreme Court today decided NOT to hear a case that would have had far-reaching implications for lesbians and single women choosing to bear children. In 2005, a man, Darryl Hendrix, who had donated semen to a woman, Samantha Harrington, who conceived and bore twins, claimed that he should be declared the father of the children, with full rights to custody and visitation. But Kansas law states the following:

"The donor of semen provided to a licensed physician for use in artificial insemination of a woman other than the donor's wife is treated in law as if he were not the birth father of a child thereby conceived, unless agreed to in writing by the donor and the woman."

Supreme Court declines to hear Fla. adoption case
Activists fear legislatures will impose more bans
By JOE CREA
JAN. 14, 2005

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a case challenging Florida’s ban on adoption by gays on Monday, sparking speculation among some observers that the high court is sidestepping the issue to give lower courts more time to grapple with its landmark Lawrence vs. Texas ruling.

The lawsuit, brought by four gay foster parents and their foster children, sought to overturn Florida’s 25-year-old ban on gay adoption. The high court’s refusal to hear the case let stand an 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling against the foster parents.

“The Supreme Court’s refusal to hear this case marks its refusal to heed the advice of all major child welfare organizations and health care professionals who say that gay parents are no different from other loving parents,” Winnie Stachelberg, political director of the Human Rights Campaign, said in a statement.

The case above has a happy FOR NOW. The tides change and below is evidence of that change.

Florida's Gay Adoption Ban Ruled Unconstitutional
A Miami-Dade circuit judge decided Tuesday that a Florida man's sexual orientation should not preclude him from adopting his two foster children, effectively ruling unconstitutional a decades-old state law barring gays and lesbians from adopting children.

Judge Cindy Lederman, a child welfare judge, found that the state law has "no rational basis" and ruled that Frank Martin Gill, 47, should be entitled to adopt two young boys he has been fostering for the past four years, reports CBS station WFOR-TV in Miami. The Florida law, dating back to Anita Bryant's 1977 homophobic "Save Our Children" crusade, allowed gays and lesbians to foster children but prohibited them from adopting.

The U.S. Supreme Court Justices know what is right but they are 9 against millions and many of them cannot resolve their own prejudice and put themselves in the line of fire. They have a job that offers great esteem and terrific benefits, but their job was never meant to be easy nor was it meant to congenial. Their job is sacred, they are the ones that have been assigned the task of maintaining the integrity of the Constitution from which the laws of this land are based.
SO WHY WOULD THEY AGREE TO HEAR THE FOLLOWING CASE?

On December 5, 2008 the United States Supreme Court is expected to meet to review a case being brought by Leo C. Donofrio against Nina Wells, the secretary of state in New Jersey, which challenges whether or not Barack Obama is a "natural-born citizen" and thus qualified under the U.S. Constitution's to become president.

Ironically Donofrio’s suit also claims that Sen. John McCain’s name should not have been on the election ballot for the same reason.

The case, which was unsuccessful at the state level, is not expected to find much success with the Supreme Court. However if four of the nine justices vote to hear the case in full, oral argument may be scheduled.

My GUESS would be that money and power have ruled the day. Where was the money and power during the last four years? Certainly this could have been resolved before the election. AH – BUT then the complacency of a Republican Party never considered they could loose.

AGAIN, sigh.....the US Supreme Court INTERPRETS the Constitution.....

The US Supreme Court decides if the decision of a lower court erred in its decision according to the Constitution......

If the US Supreme Court decides NOT to hear a case it is because they felt the case did not violate constitutional law......and YES.....many times they send the case BACK to the lower court as that is where the case should be decided.....ALL depends on what the case is about and if the lower courts erred in its opinion.

Hundreds (perhaps thousands) of cases do not make it to the US Supreme Court as they do not merit the need for the US Supreme Court as the US Supreme Court ruled that jurisdiciton belongs in the lower court.

I was just watching national geographic and thinking I am facinated with the diversity of life as it is expessed by human beings, animals and the earth.

Whether that diversity came from a God or by evolution really matters very little to me, because life is so incredibly short, we barely have time to take it all in before it's gone to us.

We can never know all the things others have learned about all there is to learn. We can't learn it all in one life time, so I think none of us leaves here with an assurance of anything except what we left behind us and how we treated those that crossed our paths.

The bible never changed and that was one thing I always had a problem with. The earth has been changing forever, and we changed with it. Or not!

Homosexuality expresses itself in nature, so to me if a God saw fit to create that expression in nature which is just as amazing and as beautiful as human nature, than I can't for the life of me see the problem here.

Never could, which is probably why no one was able to cure me so to speak, it feels natural to me as someone being straight. And I never thought I started out gay, but after reading this topic, it's very possible, but still means very little in the scheme of things. It's all about how I feel about myself, because I have to live with myself to the end.

We grow up and live our lives from very limited points of view. And it's only when we stretch our imagination and our intellect that we see other points of view can be just as valid and beautiful. Or not!

It all boils down to choice no matter what way you look at it. If I was God and I loved my children as much as I see humans do, I would want them to have the gift of choice..

I think if the Bible was not taken literally, some of things said here would never have been nessessary at all, and would could have avoided a train wreck.. lol But life is as it is, and right now my choice is to shut up already.. lol
