"land of the lost?"

is that a reference to the garden of eden? Or maybe the church at large today? - laugh

Thats a very cheesy looking costume. Its looks like one of those aliens that the Star trek crew would encounter when they would go on those landing expeditions on a new planet. Ya know, the guy you didnt recognize would always get killed.

So getting back on topic, do Christians ever feel bad that they constantly have to "defend" god and Jesus and the religion itself to non-believers who question its motivations? In real life, do you just surround yourself with other Christians so its not as rocky?

No we don't feel bad about that. We do feel sorry for the people who don't have the wisdom to look at the idea of true followers of christ the way it should be practiced. We get upset with the fact that there are people in the world who profess to be "christians" and yet they live like they have the right to NOT pay there employees a fair wage compared to what they are making, (just as one of the most previlant examples). This does not excuse anyone else for not doing the right thing and treating all whom they come in contact with as an equal and with respect. There are many people in the world who struggle with what is right for them every hour of every day. As you have or may not have noticed, I don't just sit around and not associate with anyone but other people of faith. NEITHER DID CHRIST. He went out to the streets and put himself out there to be ridiculed in hopes that people would see that there is a better way to live. Think about the men he actually picked as his disciples, they were not a very upstanding part of the community. Think about his favorite girl to spend time with, she herself was a former prostitute. I believe his way of letting his light shine was by mixing with the common folks and trying to live by example. You are correct in the assumption (probobly) that a lot of so called "christians" are not living the way they should. I would'nt worry about them to much. They probobly will not go around stoning anyone or flying airplanes into buildings or shooting a bunch of wealthy tourists a the Taj Mahal. A had a baptist minister tell me one time that if we all just did the best we could for our fellow man, the world would be perfect. That really made a lot of sense to me then and it still does today. This is a very complex world we live in. At the end of each day, or night in some cases, I can usually retire with the peace of mind that whatever mistakes I have made throughout that day are covered by my willing ness to admit to myself and to God that I was wrong. There are as many theories on exactly what a relationship with God should be as there are people who have one. The key is to have one. No one in this world will ever be able to take it away from me. They may be able to harm my body, stone me, lock me up, shoot me, string me up, lie to me, on and on and on, But they can not take my faith away from me unless I allow it. The roads I have traveled in the past are somewhat strnge if you will. I won't go into them because it serves no purpose. Just believe this, if God can forgive me, He can and will forgive anyone for anything. I will do everything possible to try to keep my mind on the finish line instead of the present in that respect. If I am wrong and there is no after life, so be it. I will die with peace of mind!

By the way, some of you may have gotten the wrong impreesion from somthing I said the other night. I told someone that I didn't care what they thought. I still don't. I do care however about how they choose to spend the rest of their existence in the universe. BIG difference.

Yes it is exuasting dealing with people who either hate Christians or just want to pick a fight with one. They will never agree with anything you say, often insult you,and put your life under a microscope waiting for you to do something un-Christian so they can put a stick in you and roast you. Then they say..."if you were a Christian you wouldn't do this and you wouldn't do that.Your not a real Christian blah, blah".

It would be nice if I could surround my self with other Christians but since I often work heavy industrial jobs(railroads, steel mills, ships yards, etc)I am rarely around other Christians(practicing Christians for that matter).Usually they are just a bunch of booze bags or drug abusers.Once in a while I will find a Christian who is really into his religon and leads a Christian lifestyle.I am a much happier person when I am working with other Christians.

The Christian lifestyle is also difficult to live.No drugs,no getting drunk,no sleeping around,no picking fights,no smoking or cusing like a sailor.Even if you do end up doing these things you often feel a great deal of guilt and remorse about it.I try to do the best I can but I often cuss and sometimes take lords name in vain while working because I get stressed out(like tonight when I accidently ripped my tumb nail off from a drilling accident)but I try to do the best I can.
