Hope things work out for you Angie, those meetings are stressful but worthwhile if you get what you deserve.

Roy, hope things are going well for you.

Karen, miss you posting, hope things are going okay for you.

Somebody shoot me, I decided I could cover a 3rd job, for 5 days only, holy crap, they are killing me, I am totally swamped with typing, have a 2nd part-time job and it worked out with that job okay as it is a few days a week, but this 3rd job is massive typing, much more than I remembered the last time I did it, but the also changed my work hours to 10 hour days, so I don't have as much free time at night to type either. Typed myself half to death this weekend and didn't get it done. Have Thursday's and today's and tomorrow's and will be done. Need the money, but damn!!! The funeral is pretty much arranged, still upset with the state, but sounds like the life insurance is a done deal and likely the van, can't get an answer from anyone. Typical when dealing with bureaucracy, I guess. Have a good week. Think I will go soak my head in the toilet and ask myself "what was I thinking?" I have this bad habit, wave some money under my nose, and I will take on a job. Getting too old to keep that up I guess, geeezzz. frustrated frustrated

The State is wonderful isnt it?Don't you go wearing your self out Marie, even for money,Roy is right, sounds like they commited fraud or worse. The state has no right to that money and I would call your state representative and the attorney general of your state and explain your situation.Even your congressman or senator.Hang in there.Love and prayers,
jackie

Got the tens unit on my back. Still feels kind of weird. The DON told me to try it out. She let me borrow it. Another nurse told me just to turn it up until I can feel the electric shock. The Aleve and Ibuprofen got the inflamation around the disc from hurting. It was kind of something walking around with the portable unit. It kept falling off while I was doing rounds. The coworker tried to stick the sticky pads to my pad and I didn't think to turn it off so it zapped her. But I could get out of the chair without feeling the kink so bad, today.

Roy - glad you are feeling better, those TENS unit do help a lot of people. Glad it is working for you.

Jax - thanks for your thoughts. I am looking into it, but the attorney told me it was "costly" to fight it and his retainer was $4500 and "he takes credit cards." What an azz.

I talked to the funeral director and he has an idea about trying something, may work, who knows. I am still ticked about it.

My freakin car is giving out on me, I can't afford this, the "check engine light is on now" and I think it is the computer acting up, I really don't need this. I have a leak in my roof and someone is going to help me fix that and several other things around here. Found out what a real friend is. I hate to ask people for help, but finally did.

Am almost done with the funeral stuff, meet with the pastor tomorrow afternoon to give him the article to read about dad (if I ever get it written), have to dig up pictures for the picture board, and make some more calls. Am still swamped with my typing, I was nuts to think I could do a third job, they have really increased their patient load since the last time I typed for them and I am paying for it big time. But pick up my last 2 tapes in the a.m., but am behind 23 or so jobs, and once they are done, will be back to my regular and part-time job, but the part-time is going to increase, he is opening his second clinic and I need more hours, so may end up working pretty much every night. But, I need to fix things around here, my car, other things, so will come in handy. Just dread working every night after working all day too. But won't complain with all the people out of work, I am grateful to have found the 2nd job, they are few and far between.

Hope everyone has a great week. Take care. Thanks for your thoughts and support, and listening to my rant. flowerforyou

I am having to ask for help, too, Marie. I have liked that song with, "I ain't asking nobody for nothing if I can't get it on my own." A friend from work was telling me that I could come live with him and his bride to be. They are a nice interracial couple who are used to having people live with them. His wife to be said she likes to cook and his daughter is friendly, too. I felt like one of the family at their house last night. He wants to buy my car for her because all they have is the truck and she works, too. His mother has agreed to sell me the mobile home on payments of $300.00 a month. His brother-in-law has been fixing my van. It is a contigency plan for when mom sells this place. I am not looking forward to moving and I was asking him that when I buy the mobile home I will need a place to put it. It will take a year to pay for the mobile home. It is an option to consider. I will have get rid of more stuff to condense down to a smaller place.

Roy - sounds like it might be a good deal for you. Hope it works out.

I actually won one fight. I ordered my granddaughter a rabbit cage online, it was about $39, was a starter kit with all the trimmings, she got a rabbit given to her and her birthday is 12/2, so I bought her the cage. They are about 9 hours away so figured the best way was to order it online. Anyways, I wanted to get it to her as quickly as possible, so I chose 2 day delivery, sucker cost $34 for shipping, oh well, she needed it. Well it didn't arrive, so I checked their message to me and it said it would arrive in 3-5 days, so I got ticked and wrote the store and said I paid extra for the 2 days, and the delivery date you state is way outside that, etc., and I will never order from you again, I don't like being lied to and cheated, etc. Anyways, got an e-mail back from the store today telling me they were refunding my $34 and apologizing for it and it is already back in my account. Dang, I actually won one - lucky I didn't have a heart attack, don't know that I can handle having something go right these days. noway

Have a good week. Take care. flowerforyou

Hey, that is so cool, Marie. I won one, today, too. The nurse told me to toilet this resident. She asked me if there was anything was wrong. I told her that person was a two person lift. I then explained that the DON told me that she wanted to watch how the new aide I were going to toilet this one resident. The Don told us not to lift that resident by the arms but to use the gait belt and the fireman lift with the towel under her legs. Then she now do it. So we put her on the toilet like that. But before we put her on the toilet she pulled her pants down. The DON seen that by following state rules it would take three people to do the deed. But she had to put the clipboard down to help.laugh I have been waiting for that to happen because I wanted her to see that it easier to lift a pen to write an aide up than it is for a nurse to help us. One nurse even told us that the resident was too heavy for the nurse to assist with. The nurse helped me with the resident because I asked for help. Kind of reminds me of the scripture you have not because you ask not. I just hate asking for help but since I have hurt my back I am forced to ask for help. We won another one because they have to take one on third shirt and bring them to second shift because one they hired said they could only work third shift. Ha Ha, I think that is so funny. Screwed up; But it works.laugh

Sounds like a good deal Roy, hope it works out for you. You deserve a good break for a change.

Gentle - thanks for you support and kind words, I do appreciate them.

Dad is about the same, started on morphine yesterday. Basically out of it most of the time. Supposed to have his ultrasound of his liver tomorrow to see what is going on, but it won't be good, he is getting jaundiced, etc.
If it is cancer, I just want him to go fast, not suffer.

Thank you all for your wonderful support and listening. Take care and have a great week. flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

Glad they gave him the morphine that will make him a lot more comfortable. Probably start drifting into the next world talking to family members but shouldn't be agitated. Least most of my Hospice people haven't been at that stage. I am praying for you.

Try checking your gas cap and turning it until it clicks three times. If it is open even a tiny bit a censor tells the engine not enough compression and it cuts off. Save yourself the little hundred bucks it cost me to find that out.

Also some trade schools at HS or community college do car repairs under the supervision of a Master Mechanic and it can save you a huge amout of money.

Keep the 1-800-PepBoys number in your purse they will pay for a tow truck to pull you in and add it to their bill. They only have certified IBS mechanics so they know what they are doing.

Most places will not take older mobile homes anything over three years. If the one you are looking at is built before 1977 don't buy it. The building codes were greatly improved that year but it was anything goes before then. If you are willing to some of the over 55 parks let people live in as Aid Attendant and they agree to quick deed their home in lew of rent if and when their conditions enough their family doctor says SNF care if you live there 2 years they can give it to you under medical guide lines.

Hi everyone

sorry I havent been around and I hope everyone is doing well.

me on the other hand, things just seem to be gettin worse and worse...they will be coming to take my van next week, STILL no job, more meds added to what I already was takin..my internet, the only connection to the outside world, other than my phone, will be shut off tomorrow as will my phone because it goes thru my internet. I feel so much like giving up on everything, then I look at my son and thank GOD I have him, because if I didn't......

I don't know if I can/will be able to handle NOT communicating with the outside world, or my friends here and other sites..It's only gonna be for 2wks, but still..when that's all you have..I dont ask for much from anyone, but If I could ask you all here, to send out some prayers for me, I would greatly appreciate it!

love and light to all  flowerforyou

My prayers are with you, mommy. Having been online since 1995 with back then of Win 3.1 you could say I am pretty much addicted to being on the Internet. It became a whole new world for me. I am glad you have your son.

Sorry to hear that Mommy, things are rough. You can go to the libraries and use their computers to keep in touch until you get yours back. Have you tried asking for help from the local agencies? I don't know how they work where you live, but some may help or a church. I wish I knew a way to help. I pay a fortune for my phone and cable and net, but have cell phones and pay for my daughter's too, otherwise she wouldn't have a phone. I hope things turn around for you. I will keep you in my prayers. I would call anyone and everyone and ask them for help, it is Christmas time coming up and some organizations help more at that time of the year, they may help you keep your van, it is worth a try.

Roy - hope things are going well for you.

Pacific - got the engine light off in my car for now, the fuel injectors weren't spraying like they should so we put some cleaner in it. Still needs valve cover gaskets and a new AC hose, but am checking the fluids, and have to wait till I get the money for that.

I have dad's funeral in the morning, think I finally have everything taken care of, have some cooking to do in the morning for the reception afterwards, but should be a nice service.

Hope you all have a great day. Take care. flowerforyou

Thanks guys, but there was some confusion, my birthday is in April, but I appreciate your good wishes anyway, will take all I can get. My dad's funeral was Saturday, was a nice service and the reception afterwards went well, nice turnout. Still lots to do, got to go through the rest of his stuff and give it away, donate, whatever. Lots of paperwork still to do. Still typing another 3rd job, just through the 2nd though, gotta do whatever job I can, need car repairs, house repairs, damn bills, heck if they offer, I am taking it.

Got 2 calls from the nursing home today, the staff are missing dad too. He was a real fixture there, used to tease the staff, had kind of adopted some of them as "substitute kids" and they are hurting too. Six or 7 of them showed up at his funeral and shared some stories. They said the place is empty without him. They called to check on me, told me to stop by and visit. I plan to, will take them some doughnuts or cookies or something. We have become friends, he would have been there 2 years in December. That is why I know I couldn't work in a nursing home, I would get too attached. One of the women told me she had "adopted" dad as a substitute dad as her dad had died years ago, she is really having a hard time now too.

Hope you are all having a good week. I need to get back to work or will never get to bed. Take care, thanks again for your kind thoughts. You guys are the best. flowerforyou

Mommy - wish I had a way to help, but I don't. Hang in there, hope something breaks for you soon and things get better. Take care. flowerforyou

You get 365 unbirthdays and just one birthday, Marie. Okay, time to change chairs. Sometimes I get mixed up because sometimes I like being the Madhatter and sometimes I would like being Alice. I guess it comes with the job.

Got a new aide. He was working out great then he stepped into a hole and twisted his ankle. I hope he is getting better. He is a widower who got married, again. My coworker, Robin didn't want to take the flu shot but did. Now she is sick. Some people don't like needles but I have had those air shots in the Army. I have seen what those air shots do. Needles don't bother me since I have seen what those air shots can do if you flinch. Some nights I just stay up till I pass out then come to later the next day. I like going to sleep and waking up better.

Hello everyone and happy Thanksgiving!

Hang in there Marie, it's got to be tough dealing with your dad's death right now, but at least you know he had a very positive impact on so many people's lives. You really can't ask for much more.

Well, I had my intake meeting with the EEOC yesterday, and they agree that I have a legitimate complaint and the company should have protected me from the ranger's harrassment. So, an official charge has been filed, the company will received notice within 10 days. If they agree to mediate with me, that should begin in about two months. Otherwise, the EEOC will start an investigation and pending the results, will file a lawsuit.
