Deb just so you know.. birth control while they say it is 99.9% effective sometimes its not.. I had my tubes tied, and was on the Depo shot for other reasons and got the gift of baby number 6... Leaving now before I say something I regret I know sweets....but that 99.9% is way better then not using it at all....which back in the 70's when I had mine...These ladies used abortion as birth control.....That is what was so wrong...... |

ideally yes your are right. but due to fear and not wanting to tell....A lot are not done in the first trimester. rape and incest are only 1% Like I said Krisma I was all pro-choice.....I have walked out of services....didn't feel the place of the church.....But I have changed my mind over the last 10 years and working with Avenues. You listen time and time to a young girl who was going to abort and then through Avenues changed her mind....and they bring the so called non lifes with them...Your staring into the faces of he babies that they chose to give life too. That is a beautiful thing. I remember when I had mine and I asked the nurse why so many hispanic ladie were in the clinic. Her response was thi was their form of birth control. That is so wrong on so many levels. Why are people not taking birth control. How many of these pregnancies come from just being stupid. hmmmmmm Wow - the tried to read the entire post, but the only thing that keep reverberating in my brain is that nurse's ignorant remark - hispanics use abortion as their form of birth control  I am pro choice and latina. I say if you don't believe in abortion don't have one - jmo Thats it right there...if you don't believe its right don't have one...perfect!!!!

Doesnt matter what the FACTS are.. this is a personal choice.. period... Children born to crack addicts who are now at their first minute of life addicted to crack..ever rocked a crack baby? I HAVE Children who are beaten by their mothers and killed, wrapped in garbage bags and thrown out like yesterday trash....Ever had to dig one out of the trash? I HAVE Children who are raped by their parents and forced into child pornography...Ever dealth with that ??? I HAVE I think these things are despicable, and I am the first one to agree that if you can't care and love a child for God's sake don't have them. But a lot of abortion is done for the convenience of a mother's life. In the majority of those I disagree. I know there's a time and place for everything .. so I am not against a mother's right. Just stand in the gap for irresponsible conception. THAT is what I believe strongly about. Abortion is NOT just the newest and best birth control.  So in your opinion, the best way to handle an irresponsible female who allows herself to become pregnant through the carelessness of her actions is to FORCE her to now carry that baby to term? Well forgive me if Im wrong but she already demonstrated her inability to be a responsible person and avoid pregnancy and take care of her reproductive health so the next best thing to do is to now make her carry a baby to term? I don't agree with FORCING anything. it IS a mother's choice. But abortion is NOT birth control. You don't even deal with the concept .. it is NOT birth control and yet is seen that way. Responsible educating is the answer. Just like our stance to change healthcare from fixing medical issues to being proactive in keeping the illnesses at bay. Same concept. Abstinence/protection vs Abortion. Which sounds more SANE????? You are irrational and base your arguments on emotion. You might be educated,. You might not be. I have no way of knowing that based on an electronic internet relay chat. I have stated that twice now and you become upset and indignant. You also have no way of knowing anything about me either. Well what term would you use when you demand that a woman MUST CARRY A BABY TO TERM. Explain to me what other word I can use besides "force" please. I have asked you this twice and you refuse to address the issue head on. There you go again with your uninformed argument about abortion being used as a form of birth control. I have already explained that the cost of the procedure is quite high and most insurance carriers will not carry it. Even when they do, its partial only and the rest is out of pocket. No one is using abortion as a practical method of birth control. That is a ridiculous argument. The Pro-Choice position has ALWAYS supported education and prevention. Another aspect of the debate you should be aware of. Its actually been the right that has had issues historically with providing condoms and sex education to children in school. |

Feral that is not the case. Its never been used as a practical method of birth control. Its expensive. That would not have changed from the 70s until the current day. Please provide the evidence to support that assertion.I would require some form of documentation of this phenomena. |
