NOT. putting a political sign on the front lawn is no different. It is pushing ones' personal views on ones neighbors. it may offend half of them. Chances are, that is the case, seeing that half of the country appears to disagree with Obama. But then, the messenger IS the message, in both cases. You can't have it both ways and be credible.  You did hit a nail on the head. However I don think that it is the one you meant to hit. The Bill of Rights gives people the Freedom of Speech. However, that is not the same as "pushing ones' personal views." Freedom of Speech is the expression of one's views. It carries with it the responsibility of respectfully listening to the views of others. The key word is "respectfully". It is impossible to show respect to another when responses are degrading, insulting, or attacks. That is one of the amazing things about our legislative system. Senators and Representatives know who to disagree with an idea without insulting the person. It is not nor has not always been practiced. Yet it is practiced more often then not. |

But using our friends in Washington as an example of not insulting the intelligence of the American people is an oxymoron. More than half of the country doesn't vote at all. The silent majority knows that our federal government is lying, and justifying a lie is complicity with condoning the acts prepetrated through lies. That is a matter of conscience and matters of conscience do not give us political leaderslike the ones in Washington that commit high treason every year by burying this nation in public debt to a private bank. Get with the program. we are all getting screwed and begging for more of the same with politics as usual. Keep drinking that KOOL AID. It seems to wash down those free lunches quite nicely, huh?

Ispiration makes amazing things happen when leadership skills are mastered and applied to politics like it were a chess game of premeditated tactical moves. if politics is a chess game, Palin is playing checkers That's good. That's about right. But...she won me over when she said "Betcha" and "Joe Six Pack". Now I'm convinced that I need to vote for them.
