Don't be afraid of the black man.

That is a very, very racist comment and I might have to report you for it. You have been warned.

.. and accusing a presidential candidate of being a militant muslim isnt racist?

Might have to report you too

Muslims not a race...IT'S A RELIGION!!!!..WOW.

1. of or pertaining to the religion, law, or civilization of Islam.

Educated again...

Actually...human is the race...for as informed as you like to look, you really confuse certain terms, don't you? And it is discrimination, not racism...although it could be classed either or...gotta love politics "this is what we should do!" and "sorry, what's that?"...

You can't blame the McCain supporters for being giddy. Sarah Palin smashed their expectations, which were less than zero. There were many questions she couldn't answer, so she didn't answer them... with a smile.

She was pretty robotic as she recited talking points. Even after Biden choked up recalling his dying young son, she didn't seem to even realize it, and launched into some pre-rehearsed crap about energy.

It's McCain-Obama now. We'll see if Obama can weather the stormy lies of October that surely are about to rain down.

UH...I always knew she was more of a contender than OBAMA.

Oh!

WAIT!

She isn't running for PREZ!!!! laugh laugh

yup.

she controlled the debate with her own style.

She controlled the tempo.

She kept the topics on her strengths.

she smoked him.

and all you can say is she didn't answer the questions. LOL

drinks KOOL AID isn't just for kids anymore.

If avoidance is control. Then she "controled". Personally I view avoidance as a weakness not a strength. Please keep your Kool-aid to yourself.

It's not avoidance to bring into the question what SHE wanted to talk about.

It's called "SKILL!"

Well i watched the debate 3 times last night.. I have to say I do like Palin more than i did before.. Aint a chance in hell i'd vote her and "the maverick" please!!! more like the crypt keeper!! She even went as far as calling herself a maverick..ohwell Yeah she came across likeable and non threatening, but also nieve, avasive, and all she really seemed to want to talk about is Alaska. I will say though that Gwen did seem to favor Biden in the debate and thats not right.

How did Gwen favor Biden in the debate?

Palin didn't answer over half the questions. Gwen didn't redirect her and let her get away with it!

I think Gwen did that because of the controversy that surrounded her before the debate.

I agree...GWEN was very good as moderator. I remember her from McNiel/Lehrer.. she was the same way...always stayed neutral.

That was largely my take too.

I ended up liking Palin but was also more convinced that I wouldn't want her as my president. And the chances are pretty good...

And I can't figure out if I was more annoyed or amused at how she ignored the questions and talked about whatever she wanted laugh

Did anybody else do a spit-take every time she talked about 'the surge'? Two weeks ago she didn't know what it was.

But I do think she handled herself well. She didn't get flustered and I think she controlled the debate just by not answering the questions. That hurt her in my eyes, but I bet, to most, it played pretty well.

Yes, I was surprised by her new vocabulary. She is a quick study. It looked liked she was looking at some cheat sheets too.

They are called (NOTES :) and they are allowed in debates and speeches.....

Well, she brought ALOT of notes that she was constantly reading.

The candidates usually just takes notes while the debate is occurring.

She did and Biden did too.....Did you ever take speech class in high school????????

Biden wasn't reading notes from the get-go. He was taking notes throughout the debate.

Palin was constantly looking down at the notes that she already had.

This was a V.P. Presidential debate not a high school debate.

That question had more to do with you then them.

I know. But..I didn't think it was any of your business.

You have a lot in common with Sarah. You answer the questions the way you want to and so does she. I think you should vote for her and McCain.

You do? laugh There's no way I would vote for them.

It is one thing to not tell someone on a dating site what classes one took in high school or college.

It is quite another thing to not tell voters how you stand on the issues.

Would you even listen...I think not.

I listen to both sides and the issues.

You listen...with your mind already made up....

THAT's the difference. Where do you stand on all the lies OBAMA is telling? Where do you stand on his involvement with ACORN & the FANNIE/FREDDIE fiasco? Do you really obsolve DEMS of any wrong doing with repsect to the economy?

I wish some of you would answer these questions instead of touting what the pundits are saying. How long will you continue to be their useful idiots?

I really do not understand the trepidations over Palin.

She is Governor of a back water state way up there in the Arctic. Great fishing and wildlife, but not much in the way of sophisticated glamour and pomp and circumstance.

Not much elitist culture.

Which brings me to my point.

She has thrived in a corrupt political venue, established her agenda and changed things in the state and lined the pockets of the locals with what amounts to a bribe, if my comprehension serves me correctly.

She makes enemies of the established cronyism, and alienates the powers that be, while mocking the "good ol' boy" network.

From that description, she should be perfect for Washington.

She fits right in.

So why the stink?

She sounds like the democrats, lock stock and barrel; loaded for bear.

She smiles and back stabs the entrenched professional politicians and steps over her benefactors.

YUP! Sounds just like Barack Obama to me.

You democrats sure don't know a better good thing when you see it.

Shame on you.

here is a nice article detailing the many distortions
which Biden sported in "winning" the debate....

hahahahahaha

claim that McCain also voted to tax those making $42,000/yr - false
more spending in 3 wks in Iraq than 7 yrs in Afghanistan - false
Biden's vote for the war was not a war resolution? - but it was

suggestion that McCain favors Wall St deregulation - false
suggestion that McCain will tax health care benefits - false

read it here

"It's not avoidance to bring into the question what SHE wanted to talk about.

If a student does not answer a question on a test it is counted as wrong.

If a person in court refuses to answer a question without using the 5th Amendment it is called contempt.

Not answering a question is a debate is not "skill" it is avoidance.

The purpose of a debate is to discuss each candidate's views on those issues as put to them by a moderator. To decide what you want to talk about is called a speach.

Isn't quickstepper the person who posted that cut & paste about Ifill and said she should step down to let someone else moderate the debate?

Palin didn't answer many of the questions she was asked. She did a poor job of not answering as well shifting the answer from bankruptcy (after incorrectly stating her tickets position) to energy? Nearly every shift was to energy accompanied by a wink or a assertion that she and McCain are mavericks. If you took maverick out of her word count I bet it would fall 10% haha

One question that has come to mind is... Why is it when Palin disagees with the cain master mc maverick, she isnt the one "retracting" her own statements? In my opinion McCain isnt helping his own cause by doing so, it makes her look weak.. shame on him. She has two feet, let her stand her own then if shes so ready...

NOT.

putting a political sign on the front lawn is no different.

It is pushing ones' personal views on ones neighbors.

it may offend half of them.

Chances are, that is the case, seeing that half of the country appears to disagree with Obama.

But then, the messenger IS the message, in both cases.

You can't have it both ways and be credible.
