Seems like a raw deal for the people that you f*cked over in your life and then, at the last moment repent, and hey! Everything's ok! Get out of jail free!

sometimes yes....but this is why we are not the judge talldub........I will give another example why I am so glad I am not......"God" is the only one with good reason.

I was picked for a jury and it was the last time the lawyers were going to talk to us before the final pick. They came to me and said this, "If you are on the jury of a man that was selling drugs to kids in the Los Angeles area, what do you think should happen to him." I thought for a moment and replied, "Shoot him between the eyes with a 45." They replied dismissed.

See why we are not the judge.....I would of taken the bastards life in an instant...because I knew of his crimes from our area. But if I would of done that....would I of been any better....and who is to say that he doesn't go to prison where he is truly saved.....see what I mean.

Look on the bright side, if you were to take his life you'd have been forgiven, no harm no foul!

Now, Moses (allegedly) got the 10 commandments from God (with no witnesses - how did that work exactly, did God say "Moses take a stone tablet and chisel, there's a few things I want you to take down"?). How come there's been no such communication since? Why was all the contact with God back then? He (allegedly) sends his only son to earth and that's it, you're all on your own after that? What kind of father (who is all seeing and all knowing) sends his son to be murdered and put on display by the Romans?!

Frankly I don't believe in any God and religion makes me laugh, everyone thinks they have the answer and yet there are so many differences between religions, so many that in some cases it brings people to killing each other! Just kinda seems to me that if God existed and he really loved us (and all the other emotions) then maybe like a strict father he'd have a word with us from time to time, set us straight, you know?

Be careful what you wish for. laugh laugh

Its called the Law of attraction, the Law of Karma, the Law of cause and effect.

Not exactly a sit down chat with God, but it works.

jb

I don't follow your reasoning, can you explain it to me (it's 4:30am here so it's probably really obvious what you mean but my tired brain isn't processing properly!)

talldub,

I would answer your questions but you didn't answer mine.

To whom are you referring when you say "The Lord?"

How would you describe the nature of this "spiritual mark?"

How do you "deny" this "The Lord" person?

jb

noway So you are from the OT school and would stone perceived "sinners"? Why dont we just skip trial and proceed directly to stoning? You had to be weeded off by the defense because of these wacko views. laugh

I absolutely love how with some Christians it's "either or" thast is such a child like mentality.

If you're not my friend you are my enemy.

REALLY?

If you don't sit with me at lunch you're not my friend anymore.

REALLY?

Is your God so pias and arrogant that's how he sees it?

You don't have to believe in my Goddess she believes in you. She likes me more but she believes in you, no matter how much of a stick in the mud you are.rofl rofl

Don't see any difference with you and yours my sweet.....

Really, so if I die and have been wrong all of this time, your God will allow me into heaven?

And what pretail does the above have to do with anything I said. You know the answer to your question Lily.....I am sure of it.

You said you didn't see any difference and that my dear is a huge difference.

Your God won't accept me unless I worship him, my Goddess excepts you for whomever you chose to worship.

My God accepts and loves all.....but you must live with the consequences of your choices sweets....choose to worship a Goddess....your choice......God is Love but he is also a jealous God......Worship "NO" other gods......so don't blame God for what is clearly your choice.

So if God is all loving then why is there such a place as hell?

AHH!! But nowhere does it state that god is "ALL" loving, no more than it states that he is all hateful, those are misconceptions by us. He is love - and that is what rules his actions BUT!! - he is also capable of all other emotions just as we are, hate, jealousy, contempt, etc., Though love may rule, he acts according to all his emotions - just as we do. If you want a non-emotional god then you'd better look elsewhere my friend - you wont find that in this one. Like a strict father he will punish as he see's fit, not as you may think he should. Your better off with the goddess if you want a god that does not care about what you do.

Tribo, as you know, I am not a practicing Wiccan but have researched the faith to some extent. Its VERY involved so I am only touching the surface. Let me just briefly impart my understanding of the Wiccan rede as it relates to "morality". Wiccan morality is largely based on the Wiccan Rede: "An it harm none, do what ye will". While this could be interpreted to mean "do no harm at all," it is usually accepted as a declaration of the freedom to act, along with the necessity of taking responsibility for what follows from one's actions.

Another element of Wiccan morality comes from the Law of Threefold Return, which is understood to mean that whatever one does to another person or thing (benevolent or otherwise) returns with triple force.

Many Wiccans also seek to cultivate a set of eight virtues. These being mirth, reverence, honour, humility, strength, beauty, power and compassion.

I thought there should be some clarification here and though the spirituality does normally attract individualistic, responsible and thoughtful folks, it is not merely a Goddess who does not give a crap about what you do. Quite the opposite of that stance.

So in other words, god is similar to a dental hygienist. If you wait right until the night before your appointment for a cleaning to brush and brush and floss and floss, the hygienist is still going to know you have been neglecting your daily care because your red swollen gums are going to clearly indicate this. Ahh I get it. laugh

Feral the center of the earth is not in fact the location of "hell". The earth has three basic elements (Im explaining this in the most simplistic of terms) You have a crust, a mantle and a core. The core does not consist of a fiery inferno ruled over by a little panlike horned critter with a pitchfork. There is an inner core and an outer core. The outer core is liquid and the inner core is a solid. There is no hell in either layer. You have nothing to worry about. happy

Hi K, my misunderstanding, i'm not wiccan so excuse me for using the goddess as an example.i should have said some non caring god.

Im not sure what religion/denomination would classify their own "god/goddess" as "non-caring". As humans we tend to project our emotions onto animals and deities. I guess its a form of anthropomorphism. Its just that the Christian god tends to have a lot of the worst of the worst traits that humans can possess. I think that may be where the point of contention lies with many non believers. Im just guessing here of course.
