Azzam Pasha, General Secretary of the Arab League, declared war the day that Israel declared independence. Can you dismiss that as a lie?

Very few Israelis even actively practice their religion.
They think that simply being Jewish they have a divine right and dont need to go to the synagogue to worship!

The American Jews attend the synagoge more!

I could get the original source of the Arab League documents if I had access to JSTOR, but I do not. I would have to hit up library computers.

The fact is Azzam Pasha, General Secretary of the Arab League, declared war on Israel IMMEDIATELY when the stated declared independence, as granted to them by the UN Mandate.

Israel declared Independence before the UN mandate was to take place and refused the honor the borders as the UN mandate stated! Anything after that was a provoked reaction.
Provoked by them as they set their own borders!

May 14, 1948 was the day of declaration of independence and was the same day the British Mandate expired. The Arab invasion came the next year.

It was the Arab's who rejected the United Nations Partition Plan For Palestine in 1947 and thus declared and went to war with Israel a near year later when the British Mandate ended and Israel declared Independence. It was the UN Mandate they had issue with and went to war with Israel over.

The war was started by Israel

You have provided no evidence to support that, whereas I posted a Time article that showed that the Arab League declared war even before the Israeli's declared independence! Many many months before in fact.

I'm not going back nowhere until you somehow dismiss that fact, which I do not think you can besides the same statement you've stated on multiple occasions now that the war was started by Israel with no primary evidence to back it up.

The one bit of factual, primary evidence, I put forth (an could have put much more daming stuff if I could access the JSTOR Arab League records) shows it was the Arab League that declared war first.

You go scrape up what you can find to dismiss that the Arab League declared war more than 5 months before Israel declared independence and before the Arab League denounced the United Nationas Partition Plan for Palestine in 1947. They denounced and said they would not follow this UN Mandate.

Did you learn the history of the creation of the Israeli state from The Mufti?

Anyways, I'm going to bed, big family July 4th golf tourney in 9 hrs from now.

I thought you would know, but I'll answer!

Almost Zero, certainly less than 3%!

Britain had it. It was part of their empire!

1930'ish!

The movement of European Jews began to accelerate because of the NaZi's!
By the end of WWII the population of Jews in PALESTINE was now at approx 30%!
Still very few and still no sign of a Jewish State named Israel!
It didnt exist!

The Israeli who came from Europe began to use their wealth to buy up land and either evict the Palestinians or mistreat them as slaves and second hand citizens. Trash you see, they had a divine right, it was in the bible!

Neocons include:
Wolfowitz
Richard Perle
Norm Podhoretz
Charles Krauthammer
Doug Feith
Michael Ledeen
Eliot Abrams
Eliot Cohen
Scooter Libby
Bill Kristol
Bernard Lewis
Samuel Huntington
David Addington

and others who infiltrated the Bush presidential campaign and subsequent administration.

Their primary goal was and is to swing US foreign policy to support Israel, especially the Likkudist agenda for Israel. They were wildly successful, taking advantage of the fear and panic that followed Sept 11. So, yes, the neocons are essentially and unquestioningly pro-Israel (or at least they feel they are; many people familiar with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict view the neocons as actually endangering the security of Israel -- but that is another issue), but beyond that, and this is where the controversy really heats up, they subordinate US interests to those of the Likkudist branch of Israeli politics.

Socially and economically, the neocons are not particularly conservative; several of them are old-time liberals. But they have strayed from these roots and are now idnetified primarily by their militarism and allegiance to (Likkudist) Israel.

The neocons developed and sold to the Bush administration some radical interpretations of international law, as was pointed out in earlier posts to this thread, most notably the doctine of "pre-emptive self-defense" -- laid out by Abe Sofaer -- and interpreted to mean that a (powerful enough) country could attack another if it merely asserted that it felt threatened. This doctrine has no standing in international law, and in legal circles is viewed as an expedient that 'allowed' the Bush administration to attack Afghanistan and Iraq.

Anyway it began to cause hard feelings on the Palestinian side and violence!
Mutual violence.

The British, masters of the land and the ones responsible for the Zionist movement were at a quandary.
They were Christains on one hand and answerable to their Christain citizens back home, and on the other knew they were responsible for the situation!
