1) Yes
2) Only if they extend these same rights and benefits to every other type of "non-traditional" relationship.

When you are voting on a Congressional law, you do not have the ability to 'stipulte' the way you want the law to read.

But since you bring it up, almost all the laws that the GLBT are attempting become inclusive of, are also being written to aford THE SAME PROTECTIONS AND BENEFITS to many other types of non-traditional families. A Grandmother raising her grandchildren. A man or woman who cares for his or her disabled sibling, a group home where the mentally or physically challeged individual are so long together they become a family, especially when there is not other real family around. An In-law who takes in homeless, virtually non-family members and they subsequently become a home and family. These people CERTAINLY deserve ALL the rights that any other family benefits from.

Furthermore, if the marriage amendment were construed "properly" it would not be about marriage, but rather a law allowing a legal contract declaring "family" recognition.

The ONLY REASON, this has not be publicized, the only reason many do not unerstand what rides on the backs of the GLBT minority issues, is because the Christian faction is SO DAM concerned about the "GLBT" agenda that they refuse to see that the "agenda" serves many more than Christians themselves would serve. Obviously they could care less for those not-traditional families, or they would not hide the fact that GLBT have attempted to include those in their proposals from day one.

Well so far the poll indicates that it is only Christians who would vote no. Though not all Christians would vote no.

What is it in the Christian faith that allows some Christians to take a beleif meant to teach that person alone, how to conduct their own affairs, and then use that information to judge another?

And worse than that, they would back up their own judgement by determining that those they have found guilty are not worthy of the same treatment under the law as they would expect themselves?
