Hey there Sadie

I hate holidays, it always reminds me of the family life I thought I would have with my husband and son. I try to create holiday rituals that i think we would have shared, but the day usual ends in tears and it lost my husband 6 years ago. I am sorry you have to live this pain. I am Sadie |

Hi Oldsage,
Even if I could ride up with them I would need to help with gas, and food..and since I can't I wouldn't feel comfortable unless I could do my part. But I sure appreciate the thought. |

Sage
is that gathering you want something you have always done , or is it because of this post? I don,t think I can go but it is a great idea. / |

thanks for the welcome. We would have been married only 9 years. So I have spend more years without him than I did with him. I know it doesn't compare to those of you who were married for many years. I can't imagine that. The hardest part is raising a child, who unlike a child of divorce knows there is another parent out there, mine is painfully aware of having none. He is seven.

None of us can compare the ease or difficulty..it is just plain hard any way it is dealt. How does one live as if it doesn't matter or is not the way it is..that is different for everyone. You can only do with all you have. Hold each other as often as you will. They grow up and out fast.. |

Good morning everyone!
Signs from above.... My husband died in November of 2005. The very first freeze of the winter came shortly after...I realized I had to wrap all of the outer pipes to keep them from freezing. My husband had always done this...the dog and weather has frayed old wrappings, so I bought some foam and tape and my daughter and I went out into the cold wind to work...I would unroll a section of foam and wrap the pipe and tape it...the unroll another section etc...One section left me and my daughter with mouths agape and made tears well up in our eyes...there in the foam was a cutout piece shaped like a heart ...It was a brand new roll of foam...there was no reason for that heart to be there. I saved the cutout. I may take a pic of it and show you sometime. |

{{{{Twin}}}} That is so cool!
I've had a lot of those kinds of things occur. I would likely be one of those people that would have said, oh she's just grasping at straws for a sign, Prior to being widowed! BUT, I've had too many weird things happen to me to blow them off to coincidence. I'm glad that happened for you. Always brings a smile, doesn't it?! |
