My baby brother got stung, probably is same proximity, he was 3. I think everyone has these stories..It does break up the somber tides..Thank you robert, nice to meet you.
Sadie Very funny Robert ' hope you are feeling better I hope Auburgirl reads it to and I want to thank her for starting such an important topic 1 On my part I will pop in occasionally to give you heads up with the clumsy escapades of mine Now did I tell you what happened in the toilets of the LAX airport hahahaha Now that will have to wait for a while since I don't want to be accused of hijacking forums. when you feel down come and get me and I will tell you a real life story in joke format. Not made up ones true ones. They are always the best now where is that chainsaw I need to cut this piece of meat for supper. |

My baby brother got stung, probably is same proximity, he was 3. I think everyone has these stories..It does break up the somber tides..Thank you robert, nice to meet you. Sadie Hello Sadie thank you for your kind words My comedy was developed after my devastations and people around me falling as though there were no tomorrow. So although have not lost a wife but one person in particular who got washed away with no closure knew me better than any person including wife ever knew me though we never had a sexual relationship. Try to leave with that. The grieving process can't even start without a closure. where do I get my closure . The book is left open and cannot be closed so the comedy comes to rescue. As I see a lot of things in my life through the humour it becomes bearable. Meantime if it brings you guys a bit of smile well then that is an added bonus.I also rescued another lady friend who committed suicide after her loss of the partner and she was for years angry with me for rescuing her and I was angry with her for doing such things we now are close friends. So I think it is fair to say I may know a thing or two about grieving and loss |

Auburngirl and all the other very young widows ,did you experience a ripped off feeling ? Did you have to cope with feeling bitter after ? I am just wondering cause some of you had so little time with your spouse and were so young.

Don't have to be young to feel cheated.
Gwen & I only had 14 yrs, planned a lot more. |

Don't have to be young to feel cheated. Gwen & I only had 14 yrs, planned a lot more. yes you are right .But I do think when you are in your 20s and 30s being a widow is the last thing on your mind .The older you get the more you start to think of it . But yes you were cheated and I an sorry you were . I know Gwen must have felt so loved and cherished by you . |

I felt VERY ripped off! Married at 23, widowed at 35...12 years. I was extremely bitter about it.

We decided God has a plan we don't understand.
Didn't like it, but made the best of what we had. Betty, you should come down for July. |

Well you were ripped off!
I also think this might be a good chance to let people know the importance of a will at no matter what age. I know on this topic it is too late ..but just in case someone is reading this and thinks they have all the time in the world to do it ..well you don,t always have that guarentee. |

Betty, how far is Kitchener from Toronto/Mississauga?

You are right Betty. We didn't have one but things were either in both of our names, like our home, or we were each other's beneficiary. We didn't even have plots and never got them in the 10 months he was sick. He would not speak of that, or the possibility that he wouldn't beat it. So I had to do all of that the day I made the arrangements. It made for a long day.
