I am a police officer, on a dialy basis i raise the children of parents who couldnt do it themselves. as a police officer, you handle them for a short while, you dont raise them. as a police officer, i am sure you have seen where the parent did "beat thier ass" and ended up losing thier child and going to jail...seen it too many times. i work in outreach and casemanagement...i know what i speak of. dont judge until you know...you have no idea if this woman spoils her children, what the background is. |

I TELL MY SONS NOT TO ACT LIKE THEIR SISTER BUT HER TWIN BROTHER IS STARTING TO ACT OUT. I CAUGHT HIM SMOKING CIGS YESTERDAY AND I REALLY BLEW A FUSE THEN. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT I SHOULD DO? I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT. These issues are most of the time dealt with therapy sessions. There are many places that they will take you on and subject to your ability to pay wil charge a fee but the agreements are that normally if you miss 2 sessions they will dismiss you. Bear that in mind As for the issues the anger may be about a missing parent who possibly left abruptly never to return or death of a parent which causes the anxiety. It may also be due to ADHT which needs expeert for diagnosys. So 1st step seek counceling and then try to make sure it is not HDT or ADHT im sorry but all that add adhd abde efgh is all horse crap. adhd is a kid raised by a parent who spoils their kid and lets them get away with way to much, beat her ass, ull see what happens People like you make this world a very colourful place to live I guess your colour is dark brown. i prefer a dark blue, maybe black... but its true, and i bet the parents of kids who dont act out would agree. its a sad but true fact that kids now adays act as if they themselves are the parents refering to violence as a problem solving technique for a child by a police officer!! makes me ill... its something i agree with totally tho. kids should understand they are not the parents andare not in charge. thats my POV. everyone has a diff. one but thats mine I guess thats why you are a police officer and you handle things they way you see it fit as per your training. I have no problem accepting that the society requires individuals like you . There is no doubt. But we don't use a sledge hammer to crack a nut. Unfortunately the system does and you also instead of being part of a solution become part of a problem my biggest point on the whole matter i guess is this....ill lay it out (not trying to make excuses but idk...) i was raised by the iron fist of my parents, grew up on honorroll, joined the USMC, and am now already a cop and almost finished college. my sister on the other hand was almost 18, was raised getting what she wants when she wants it and she has been arrested 4 times and got pregnant once then last december was found ODed on heroin. so i guess my outlook on it is that if you stop them by changing to the way i grew up, we wont lose another precious child to ways we lost my sister... |

I agree with jewlz.. spare the rod spoil the child!! but I really dont think at this point an azz whoopin would do any good.. shes 13 so its not like its too late. let her spend a summer in juvie with no outside contact or better yet at a strict gramma and pa's or aunt!!! A person can learn to appreciate ALL the little things they so easily forget and and overlook or thought they never had... even at that age. Just no matter what route you take make sure she knows you DO love her..

if I missed the others, I apologize, but suzyq seems the only one touching what is potentially the heart of the matter. Communication. I am not a proponent of hitting, foot to ass (ahem), et alia for I believe you reap what you sow. Which really is the case now isn't it? People who resort to physical violence are generally intellectually inept, although there are many cases where this is a last resort.
I hardly believe the necessity behind this in a 13 year old. Restrictions tend to align a child with reality and at 13, there are many things a child can be impacted by in the absence of - their favorite activity, or item. I would dig deeper in this and take a certain responsibility for distancing yourself from your child; what took either of you away from where you were when she was 5, 6, 7, etc? Essentially, perhaps communication broke down a long time ago, you're just now seeing the results.....a stab in the dark, what do I know hahaha... As to how to get back on course; you send her to camp, you're expecting someone else to fix the problem. You take her to counseling, and you inadvertently alienate her. I would say, educate her, make some you & her time if you're not already doing that. Share a discovery with her. Put her on a program that is going to institute self-discovery and inspiration. Maybe she's just bored to tears. All in all, education and communication might go a long way to repair....I don't get involved in peoples lives and don't have a lot of exposure to kids, but in the case of salvaging a child's life and giving her the tools to make her/him successful in life...well I have a moment for that.....now, where was I? Oh yes, looking for a hot single chick that wants to date....... |
