I just have a problem with a hypocritical, two-faced system that hires and exploits immigrant, thus lowering wages for ALL workers, and then turns around and uses the same people for political spin just to look good with the masses...
I dont know why its so hard to understand this....if you keep hiring them they will keep coming!!!! Hold the business accountable for breaking the law and you'll have no more problems with "illegal" immigrants.

Then it is a poor reason. For it gives the right to force English on others. Perhaps legally open the door to other Residential systems. Again part of the decline of the Mohicans was the ailments brought in by settlers not just tribal warfare.

they did hold one temp. office accountable here in our town, and fined them millions and the owners were sent to prison. however, our county is one of the fastest growing hispanic population in the state according to recent news. they simply went to other offices. our country will never get rid of all of the illegal immigrants because they are flowing in faster than our gov. deports them. its just how it is. they are coming to make a better life for family and to feed their children.

concerning my friends-----not the entire population-----they leave their wives with unborn babies to come here to make money to pay the hospital bills so their child doesnt die because the hospital in those areas dont allow service for credit. they want cash up front. in some places the hospital is hours away. they may have the money for the trip, but not for the hospital once they get there. this is the case with most of my friends. many have babies they have not seen in years, and some they have never seen at all.
i dont think it is right, but i would do the same thing (as im sure many would) to make a life for my family if our country was in that shape.

Perhaps it was intentional of the founders? That a mixture of all would create a stronger nation united by the idea of a common nation not a common language.

But then what do I know. I'm just a Canuck stuck with two languages and one province that can't even agree with that idea.

I think its ridiculous to tell and label other people as illegals when this country was founded on the context of misrepresentation and to be blunt stealing from the Native Americans who were here in the first place.........Its amazing how people forget or have tunnel vision when it doesnt involve their own ethnicity and culture but to be real this country and the people in it have no true justification to point fingers at people who just as yourself are searching for the so-called American Dream which many of your ancestors did the same and they didnt have to sign no paperwork or have to be claimed as illegals..........This country was founded on freedom and people need to remember that it just doesnt imply the people in this country but the people who come to live and get opportunity from this country...............I pity us all for being so shallow and undeducated...........take care

I am African and my father came here to get a PHD which he was going to go back and use it at his own country..........But when the university found out that a brilliant, gifted, and genius man that he was they decided that they wanted him here so they pretty much offered his whole family plane tickets and whatever he wanted to keep him here..........Its funny how my father who wanted to go home chose to stay in the hopes that he would give us a better life but when he retired he had known throughout the time that his heart was for home and that is Africa.........let me say that you are mistaken to think that people want to live here its not that if they had the opportunities that they had at home you wouldnt see anyone trying to move to America..........I know a lot of people that their intention is to get an education and go home.....its that simple and I think that would there would be alot more people who would do that if they could.......People in Europe fantasize about America but if you asked where they would live they would live they stay in their own country because to them they have the same resources as America.........

Good post. But I would add we need to have a punishment for the illegal immigrants as well.

I do believe most of them are hard working people just trying to improve the quality of life for thier families, but they need to respect our laws if they want to be welcomed.

What part didnt you understand I think I have been very clear........I think that you forget that America has exploited people since it conception and I am showing you how it has manipulated innocent people and has taken their land.........Its that simple and yes people come here with student visas but when Americans especially elite ones find that they are letting some of these students go home and they may be gifted then they offer them a deal and what happens is that it strips the native country of the educated and intelligent people it needs to progress.......am I not clear I can keep breaking it down for you

I appreciate Tanskity's points about the founding of the colonies. I havn't forgotten the crimes committed againts the 1st natives. But we are Nation with laws of citizenship & I think anyone who wants to come here should start by showing they are willing to obey those laws & be responsable residents.
