People are risking their lives daily to sneak into the US. If we enforced our immigration laws they would think more about taking such risks, only to be sent back.

Definitely agree! drinker flowerforyou

Like in Oklahoma now, the illegals are leaving by the thousands..because that state passed laws taking that situation into thier own hands.

I also heard that Arizona has made it a crime for business to hire illegals, so now they are leaving there because there is no work.

So you are correct, if laws are actually enforced, it cuts down dramatically on the problems. flowerforyou

If we did not hire them for jobs here they would have no reason to sneak here since they cannot get any public assistance.

not to mention all these upstanding law breakers break more laws while over here to get assistance. They do it no matter what people say. This is not a victimless crime

I have a friend that had her child in the U.S. The child is a citizen and the mom is not. The child is eligible to receive all benefits. But...the mom is not allowed to stay here just because the child can.

I definately think people who hire them should be fined so heavily that the risk of getting caught isn't worth it. These employers are breaking the law, abusing US workers rights & probably abusing the illegal aliens also.

I don't know, Rose. I just know about my city. The child does get free state healthcare and the mother does not. She brought other illegal children with her. They attend the public schools. They don't have free state healthcare.

I just checked. Proof of legal status is NOT required by the state of Wisconsin to apply for public assistance. A bill was introduced in 2005 to change this, but was vetoed by Governor Dole.

Some of the people who come here from mexico are higher quality than the people born into the welfar state of america, The 'White' welfar bums should not get our tax dollars either.
Whats the difference?

I have argued in anoher thread before that welfare should be reconfigured. it is there to help people not support people. welfare is not a job. but the difference is legal vs illegal. it's hard enough trying to support dead beats without adding illegals to try to support as well. welfare needs to change how it is handled.

Rose I am looking. So far the most recent reference I have found is to a bill introduced in 2007 to stop illeagals from getting assistance in Tx, but can't find whether it passed or not.

I agree that there is abuse by people of all races, but the difference here is ILLEGAL. Why should we allow people from another country to come here illegally & take resources meant for our citizens?
