eberyone has their own views on this, and they are right for them. There really is no need for anyone to try to escalate emotions by picking peoples statements apart

Thank you... and really I think if you have a question... ask it plainly. I do not understand adj4u when he posts so I rarely read them. It just works out better for me.

I'm disengaging and I appreciate the interruption post. Good call, guy.

This is my choice for the biggest threat not addressed by america. We have a gun problem...with everyone popping off so easy and quickly as well as public shooting sprees...are any of us safe anymore? Do we all have to pack? What the hell is going on in this country? Do we have a people behavioral problem as well? wether you live on the streets or you live in the hills this is a problem. Spill it America.

our problem is a lack of respect and propper knowledge

yes it does but a lot of places do not permit you to take them in

if virginia had (maybe do) concealed carry i doubt it would have helped cause virgina tech would more than likely have no gun rule

virginia does, but i don't believe they're allowed on school campuses. hell, va has an open carry law as well.

That does not always work though... Kids are curious, and some kids like to show things-guns off to their friends, hell their kids, and all I am saying is, I do not feel comfortable with guns nowhere around me or any kids, because accidents do happen. Kids are more likely to pull out a gun and play with or show off to someone, then a knife... How many times do you see kids that have gotten killed from a knife than a gun. It outways a knife tremendously. That is my choice of protection.

teach the child respect and the seriousness of the object. keep them locked up until they're mature.

and ya know, i had a friend who was stabbed by his brother. also when i lived in germany there some german kid who went into his school with knives and stabbed a bunch of people.

Sorry to hear that. I was not stating that it does not happen at all, I just said that it is more common for a child to get shot then stabbed. Thats all...

there are two towns that i know of that actually passed laws requiring the heads of households to carry a loaded gun. they realized that "if you outlaw guns, only the outlaws will have guns." and stood up for our constitutional right. they made several loop-holes in the law just in case a resident didnt' want to carry a gun. but there crime rates have dropped to near nothing, as chicago, new orleans and other disarmed cities crime continues to skyrocket!

Gruda Springs, kansas
and
Kennesaw, georgia

The more guns are out there the more available they are to criminals. It is simple supply and demand.
Criminals will always find access to a gun. Try enforcing the laws already on the books before you give up the second amendment. Outlaw cars they kill more people then guns in America. Outlaw hamburgers they cause obesity. Lets go burn some books while we are at it. If Nicole had a gun, O.J. wouldn't be playing golf right now.

That is quite an assumption... and a scary one at that... you've drawn from my statement.

My son hunts and he went to a hunter's education and safety course where he learned the do's and don'ts of guns. He takes it very seriously when hunting and when he is around other people...criminals can make their own damn weapons if they want them...no way to stop them unless you have one of your own....guess lilith and son won't ever come to visit us as we have a few weapons.....each to their own.....

It's Lilith! flowerforyou

I'm not a gun guy, but the Second Amendment is there for a reason. Also, no amount of Gun legislation is going to stop criminals from getting them, so all you're doing is disarming those who would follow the law.

I am not opposed to what the second amendment represents... just what has become of it.

Hey there yourself, guy!

WHY DO I NEED A LICENCE TO PROTECT MYSELF? Thats the problem i see with concealed carry. totally unconstitutional to require a licene for a right. SEE MARBERRY VS MADISON.

It is true that guns do not kill people people kill people but I am an advocate of controlling who can get a gun. I already know the current control does not work as it should but there are too many people who feel powerless in this country and to hand a powerless person a gun is asking for trouble.

I have seen too many use a gun as intimidation, too many parents who do not watch their weapons well enough, too many people who want to go postal on folks, too many people who road rage and use the gun as a form of raging, etc...... In a "perfect" world guns would be used properly, protected properly and utilized for what they should be used for, but like I have been told on many many occasions, it is not a perfect world.
