Knotted work-boot laces diverted past
loop-holes clogged by Armani and Italian leather. Minivans in traffic jams on the limousine packed beltway... workers scrounging for coins taking it's toll as lawmakers are escorted 'round the booth. Polishing marble floors scuffed by lobbyists dragging heels in the capitol halls. Unpaid lunch break doctor's visit... out-of-pocket treatment leaving little dough for evening bread, while freeloaders eat cooked alive crustaceans and sip fizzy wine after a toast to cutting the safety net. |

Intimate Encounter
|
|
Just being honest. When I read that in a persons profile, I am turned off. What is your opinion? In my experience, when seeking intimate encounter is indicated in a profile, it's usually one that seems phony. That's a turnoff for me. If seeking intimate encounter was one of multiple options indicated in a profile that looks legitimate, that alone would not turn me off. Personally I'm not interested in meeting a stranger for sex. My intent is to meet a compatible woman, then develop trust and emotional intimacy that progresses into physical intimacy. |

In the minds of some, there seems to be an undefined deadline that certain first time experiences are expected to happen by to be considered normal. I think someone with this outlook becomes uncomfortable when encountering a person that doesn't meet that expectation. It may cause them to perceive the lack of experience as inferior or as a defect.
An inexperienced person might be more awkward at first, but even an experienced person has to learn how to satisfy the specific needs of a new partner. |

Marriage or not?

No.
I don't feel a need to swear my love and pledge my devotion to a mate in front of witnesses or clergy to compel me to honor my commitment to that person. |

The deference that you express for the indigenous people of New Zealand, and their rituals and connection to the natural world, comes through vividly in this poem, Ladywind.

A thorough expression of how impactful loneliness can be. Something that is relatable to many. This phrase stood out to me: "sorrowful o'clock"
