Duck Tales.. Wo-oh... la la la la la la la la Duck Tales

haha.. no, I don't remember every line

Actually 'Tail Spin' was better then duck tales, but I don't remember the jinggle at ALL..

Of course I have more modern favorites, but I don't remember taping any of those and watching them over and over as a collection, so Disney cartoons of my youth take the cake. I knew how to work the VCR when I was six..haha

Also, about that time, I would play 'CHEESE' on my father's Commador, back in the old floopy drive days.

and by cheese, I mean American sliced cheese... I was a destructive youngster. Hard to believe my father let me go near electronics.

The Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition is designed to emulate real world scenerios, tasks, and excersises that a corportate IT, in most cases, will encounter.

I went to a regional competition representing my college, TAMUK, in 2006.

Corporate IT networks and the ITs that maintain them are completely different animals then Personal Computers and the common user, so a_shields and nogames39 are correct in that when a Tech is suggesting updates, he's more or less considering what an open network vulnerbility means in his experience.

The fact of the matter is, you don't have an open network that runs webhosting services as a common user (by default). Although, there are certainly network client services that you are most likely running that do have vulnerbilities, such as terminal services. In any case, there is a high probability that you will not be targeted by hackers. You will probably never see evidence of a port scan run on your computer or router, or any of the events that the Corporate ITs experience daily.

You ARE still vulnerable to worms, an updated anti-virus software and properly running firewall will address, or at least attempt to address, these vulnerbilities. So irregardless of whether you install your windows security updates, or not, you can maintain a 'relatively' secure PC.

I'm not going to advise you against downloading and installing security updates/patches, as I myself install security updates.

Still, I see a greater issue here being generalizations and perhaps a misdirected belief in corporate conspiracy... nogames39, ahem*....

Lets just try to remember that an Operating System is just software designed to automate other software. If you start putting data on it that you consider precious, you should consider backing up that data to a removable storage device. Security is a matter of preception in most cases.. no computer is completely secure.

A friend of mine used the Free TurboTax earlier this year, and even though it didn't state there was an error, somehow the efiling got messed up. He then went to H&R Block. They 'got him more money'.. by his words.. They resubmitted, and the extra deductibles payed for their service..

I was there when he was using TurboTax.. and from what I witnessed.. he prepared his form quite thoroughly and accurately. I'm not sure how H&R Block was able to get him a higher return, but it has given me serious doubts about TurboTax's accuracy in claims and deductibles.

Those projected keyboards are going to be a pain in the arse to get used to. There's no feed back like when you press a key down, and you can't feel the J/F "home keys". I'd rather have a thin flexible keyboard that I can roll up and stick in my backpack or something.

those exist as well. actually, those exist along with roll up LCD (like?) screens...

I remember seeing prototypes of this is conjunction with some military technology/ future warfare type show.

They have the IPhone accelerator like feature as well.. that is, you can rotate it on its side and the display will rotate to a vertical position again, respectfully.

I found a link to the roll up LCD monitor, but I don't think it's the same one I was referring to.

the voices...

Sadly, it's a mixed up sleeping routine that keeps me awake at night... It's a difficult cycle to overcome.

there is also a bit of that solitary appeal.

well.. this person hasn't really spammed anything.. as far as I can tell.. at least, I never received any form of spam.

Still, I did a little more investigating into the matter.. and I think you're right. I sent a quick hello message to my, now, missing mutual match about six days ago.. and when I checked my sent mail, it seems to have been sent to this same forty year old man... so yeah.. I guess I've been dupped laugh

still, it was pretty funny to login and discover the male mutual. huh

one of my 'two' mutual matches turned into a guy.. haha

I'm not entirely sure what glitch caused this, but one of my mutuals is gone... and some forty+ year old man is in her stead.. To make matters even funnier.. I cannot remember who the mutual match was that is now gone..

Happens all the time. Nothing to see here.

what .. that's concerning..

As they say when something seems to good to be true it is!!

Most likely they were a scammer and got busted and their account was banned by Admin.

The site does not promote scammers on the site and will in fact get rid of them as they find them.

So therefore anytime you find one that is way too good to be true you might want to go to their profile and on the right hand side across from their picture you will see report this user click on scammer/spammer and in the box just put in that they might want to check them to see if they are scammers.

Admin will check it out to see if in fact they are.

So when in doubt have them checked out.

it's possible.. but unlikely.. she didn't look like a super model.. she was a down to earth looking chick, her attractiveness was along the lines of what 'I' consider attractive..

Honestly....I have emailed MANY people. Never one email from or to me from a mutual match! I pretty much thought that was a given.....

lol, I received and e-mail from a mutual match recently (not the same person) that gave off the impression that she and I had been talking for a long time.. I thought that was strange.. although, no e-mail from a mutual match would be odder to me at this point, as I 'usually' send some form of greetings message.

On another note.. how often do you 'yes' or 'maybe' people laugh

never happened to me....sorry

according to moofooga, it will.. haha

The mingle ghost is on the loose again

laugh I must know, is there really a mingle ghost?

I click NO on everyone. I only do it if I am VERY bored.

laugh so, in other words, it's some form of entertainment?.. haha.. actually, I see what you mean.. you only do 'mutual match' when you are very bored.. but at first, I thought you meant that the only time you don't click 'no', is when you are VERY bored.... which is, of course, perplexingly abnormal.

man... ive got LOTS of matches (its a joke) an LOTs of friends...most of the matches never even talked to me b4 OR after they were "matched" i guess they r shy... all but a few that is ... if u want to meet someone or know someone u'll have to speak up ladies...im not all about doing my footwork and urs too

Well, I think the last person that states they are 'interested' (or rather, says yes to the mutual match, which creates the mutual match) should be the one that takes the initiative.

do yall agree?

I like these poems..

That is, I see two different forms of writting here

in the current form, I think your poem takes on several different types of poetic forms..

It goes from comparative/metaphoric form to descriptive form.. I think you should 'remove' the first stanza from this poem.. and develope a new poem with the concept of that first stanza in mind. Where as, the other stanzas in this poem seem to flow better together, and without the first stanza.

I could see you making a reaccuring notion from that first stanza.

example..

you remind me of the ocean..
*line*
*line*

you remind me of a potatoe..
*line*
*line*

(don't use the potatoe comparison).. lol

have any of yall had a 'mutal match' with someone that you found indescribably attractive.. that is, it's not the 'usual' attractive qualities.. waited a week or so to write them.. and discovered their accounts were 'deactivated.'..

well... I just experienced that.. we should start a group or something..laugh

Ok so an icon popped up today saying that my automatic updates is not running and gave me direction to turn it back on! When in properties I try to turn it back on and am getting this error message:
Error1058 The service can not be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it!

Can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix it??

It seems as though you restored and 'fixed' the problem?? I can't really tell, except that you reference this issue in the past tense.

In any case, lets ensure that your windows update registries are uncorrupted..

First, lets create a batch file that will reregister your windows update registries, as the malware seemingly corrupted them.

create a textfile [ whatever.txt ] on your desktop.

Add the following lines
"
regsvr32 /s wuapi.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 /s wucltui.dll
regsvr32 /s wups2.dll
regsvr32 /s wups.dll
regsvr32 /s wuweb.dll
"
(without the quotes)
Save the textfile (using the 'SaveAs' menuitem) as [ whatever.bat ]

At this time, you would focus on removing the malware.. (which you may not have, so we are just going to jump to using the batch file)

Go ahead and double click the newly created batch file. You will see a command console popup, that will 'correct' those dlls and the registry keys associated to them. You should now be able to turn on the Automatic Windows Update and the associated windows update services.

Alternatively, you could use Windows Update Repair Tool BETA. Downloadable at

Hey Dancere,
for the purpose of adding a solution to this thread post, I'm going to post the information I gathered and wrote to you via mail, here.

...
URLs for you..

From this website..
http://www.catonmat.net/blog/how-to-extract-audio-tracks-from-youtube-videos/
we see an article explaining the scenerio you just proposed.

The tool the author references can be downloaded here:
http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/ffmpeg/

get the latest version.

The article will give you instructions on how to use this tool to extract the audio layer from youtube videos (generally speaking, I'm not sure if this actually requires another tool to be used to download the files originally, so that they are in a specific movie format to begin with)

If the extracting program fails to function properly, you can download the author's YouTube Downloader at... http://www.catonmat.net/download/ytdown.vbs
...

More Information:
A google search "youtube codecs audio extraction" will display links to this site (at the top), as well as other YouTube downloaders.

...

Let me know whether this information helped you.

The northshore is nice a place to live and work, but it's a little difficult to get into the dating scene around here. Where do yall meet people at? When I lived in Texas, it was a small town, so the choices were a bit more obvious.

I've been back here for over a year now, and I think I've gotten a grand total of two numbers, from not very appealing looking women, with unusual company.
