Painful to sit through...

Haha. It WAS rather long & tedious. I remember watching it in the theater & the whole crowd stood up because they thought it was over, & sat back down when they realized it wasn't over yet. They did that 3-4 times. It was like we all just wanted it to end & it wouldn't. Kind of a surreal experience.
Hollywood sure seemed to like it though. It got best picture. Personally, I would have given the oscar to "The Two Towers" instead. |

Good question. I guess it's just a classic example of "the grass is always greener on the other side".
Like, for example, I have been in Florida since 2006. And, although it is nice here, I really miss the West Coast. The mountains, the pounding surf (what a REAL beach should be like...none of this boring two foot wave Gulf crap), the cooler weather (hot & sticky EVERY day gets a bit old, unless you're a lizard), THE CHANGE OF SEASONS (actually more midwest...where I was raised), the people (more hippie down to earth types on the West Coast, here there are more ignorant, loud, obnoxious, rednecks, or ghetto type thug gangbangers). I just feel like I don't fit in here. Although, I AM trying to keep an open mind and stay optimistic with the panhandle. I like it here a lot better than the Tampa Bay area (only been here a few days now), so...we shall see. |

to eat or not to eat

I switched to a healthy diet in the past year, low carbs and fat, lots of vegies and fruit, youghurt, no candy and only dark chocolate for my chocolate cravings. I was doing pretty good. A few weeks ago I was in the store, and while doing my groceries, my mind was going "okay, can't buy that has too much calories, oh that one has too much fat, that has too much carbs, too much sugar, again too much calories." and I just stopped and said to myself, this is not a life. I mean, I am not overweight, and although, I would like to look skinny, I don't wanna be miserable trying to be a size 6. I'd rather eat what I like(of course in moderation)and enjoy my life, than eat salad for the rest of my life and be miserable, just to look thin. anyone else think the same? Yep. It seems that ANYTHING can kill you nowadays. Including stressing about what NOT to eat. Eat, drink, and be merry! Life's too short. |

What are some real stinkers that you started watching because you thought they might be somewhat interesting/entertaining, only to find yourself counting down the minutes to the end?
Recently...Conan The Barbarian (2011) Yeah yeah...I know it supposed to be more true to the novels, but that still didn't make up for how completely horrible this film was. S Darko - If you have seen it then you know what I'm talking about. Anything starring The Rock, Will Ferrel, or Will Smith. |

Personally, I see infatuation or obsession more as an external thing.
Love is more internal. |

Haha. Nicely put.
On a related note. Why do individual states even have their own laws, if the feds can step right in & enforce their own? Doesn't make any sense to me. |

I believe anyone can be forgiven & given a second chance. However...once that trust is broken, it's almost impossible to get it back. And no trust = insecurity & jealousy, which is just a broken relationship waiting to happen.

Wow.........
I wonder how many of these are actually real & how many are actually enforced. |

I don't think they really had any idea when this nation was formed. And I believe they still don't. They are making it up as they go along.
And it shows... |

Or what I refer to as "Epic Metal".
Recently discovered this genre. Been listening to a lot of Dragonforce, Axenstar, Darkmoor, Nightwish, Dark Tranquility, & Insomnium. Any recommendations? Please note: No throat growling. I appreciate the musical aspect of some of these bands, but I really want to be able to understand the lyrics. Thanks. |
