Now...inquiring minds want to know....where is the designated changing spot?! Lol, sorry! I should have posted that. 
I went to the second hand store, found a side table that looked like it would work, and put it in the bathroom against the far wall.(Is that even the right name for it? It's a small table - about 2' x 3' and about 3' high.)It's not in my way, and when she's not visiting I can put a flower vase or something on it. (edited for spelling) |

Update:
Woohoo! She agreed to the designated changing spot.
She agreed to at least tie the smelly diapers up in a bag before throwing them in the trash.
It turned out to be a really, nice talk. She was not offended at all. She thanked me for the changing pads & thought the waterproof table cloth was a great idea.

I speak with my parents on the phone regularly. I speak with my brother occasionally, but it isn't like either one of us need to know every detail of each other's lives every day. I've said about 20 words to my one sister over the past 30 years, and I don't speak at all to my other sister. I'm good to go. 
Once I realized that, just because they're blood...it doesn't make 'em family...I was good to go, too...

Got a family member that does this? They can't be bothered to pick up the phone and call you. If you don't call them, you two probably won't talk for weeks. But if you get tired of being the only one to reach out..if you stop calling them, then they WILL call you a couple months later....only to b*tch at you for not calling. 
(venting) Yep, that's me and my parents. I was expected to keep the relationship going. I'm the most hated person in the family because I gave up trying to make it last. They can't call or visit me. Sad part is, they live across town.
