Got a family member that does this? They can't be bothered to pick up the phone and call you. If you don't call them, you two probably won't talk for weeks. But if you get tired of being the only one to reach out..if you stop calling them, then they WILL call you a couple months later....only to b*tch at you for not calling.

I'm sorry this happened to you!!
 My brother used to only call me once a month when I lived in Florida, now that I am 5 minutes away from him, I can't stop him calling me!! But I wouldn't change it for the world! I hope things get better for you!

Sad part is, they live across town. |

I speak with my parents on the phone regularly. I speak with my brother occasionally, but it isn't like either one of us need to know every detail of each other's lives every day. I've said about 20 words to my one sister over the past 30 years, and I don't speak at all to my other sister.
I'm good to go.

used to. i just call now and don't make a sound..........
 if you have a prank caller, try it. it makes the pranker uneasy, and telemarketers......priceless.

I’m not one of those people that can "shoot the breeze" for hours on end and I don’t possess the "gift of gab." When I call people, (even family) it’s for a succinct reason. In fact, I wouldn’t even buy a cell phone and eventually a friend bought me one of those camera ones last Christmas and she had to take it out of the box for me because I refused to look at it. So some people just don’t like it.

I am guilty of doing this. I hate talkin to family members. Probably because I dont have much great to say about my own life and am not really interested in what mundane stuff is going on in theirs, so I avoid the calls like the plauge.
However, I never complain about lack of phone contact after. |

Well I know I HATE talking on the phone. It hurts my ear and I just despise it in general. I’m not one of those people that can "shoot the breeze" for hours on end and I don’t possess the "gift of gab." When I call people, (even family) it’s for a succinct reason. In fact, I wouldn’t even buy a cell phone and eventually a friend bought me one of those camera ones last Christmas and she had to take it out of the box for me because I refused to look at it. So some people just don’t like it. Sounds like me. Everyone had a cellphone I knew, by the time I bought myself one. I have the lowest plan I could find, so there is my excuse to tell them, not to call me, unless it's important. I can't stand talking about nothing for hours, it just fascinates me how others are able to be on the phone and talk about absolutely nothing for hours. |

I understand that people need to own cells sometimes for their jobs or family. I’m just saying I personally don’t like them. I feel like we never had them before but now suddenly it’s the norm.
