Blah blah blah... I posted one because I felt like it. Classless? K... I'd love for you to walk in my circles and put that theory to the test. Fat? Yeah, probably, but who cares.
Don't like it, click off. Get over it. I did it cause I felt like it. |

Hawking: Quantum Gravity and Theoretical Cosomology. The former will probably be of more benefit to mankind as we blaze a new path into quantum physics and mechanics. Nanotechnolgy is the future.

A LOT of not most of Hawking's foundation came from the theories and findings of Einstein. Einstein's inspiration came from others before him. Copernicus, Galileo, Da Vinci. Who's to say? Tesla, Edison, Curie, they were all genuises in their own right. Without giving the guy in the wheelchair and the dead guy IQ tests, how would you know? Furthermore, once you reach that level of brilliance, an IQ point here or there really doesn't count. They both make all of us look like monkeys tossing poo at the wall. Dont forget Plato & Aristotle Smart girls ROCK!! |

Sir Issac Newton, Newton laid the ground work out for the theory of realitivy....Einstein just crossed the T's and dotted the I's. Newton was a giant, and is regarded by most in the scientific community as the greatest scientist of all time. But to say that all Einstein did was dot the I's and cross the T's is taking away from what he did. Newtonian physics has been found to be somewhat just a rough sketch of reality, and that was due largely in part to relativity. Relative Physics is inherently impossible for the average person to grasp, and there's a reason why. Cause Einstein was a monster. But I agree, if you asked Einstein who was greater, he'd defer to Newton in a heartbeat. Of course his "law" of gravitation was a bit off |

I'm just sayin... Once you've made a point, and it's invalid, and you know it's invalid, why is it so hard for some people to just say "Hmmm... Good point..." and go play in traffic?
I have to do it on a daily basis, and I'm usually right |

When you're having an argument, a debate, or just posting on a forum like this one, do you find that you just have to have the last word? Or is it sufficient to just make your point and shut up?
I'm gonna tally the results by gender and age. |

Light one up NON SMOKERS - You don't know what you're missing. It will relieve all of your anger towards us smokers. And it will relieve your stress filled day - even if for a few minutes. Science Daily - Oct 1,2007 The analysis of 2,334 men and women aged 45-64 years also found that long-term stress is associated with increased risk of coronary heart disease in both men and women. Specifically, researchers found that men with high trait anger scores had 1.7 times greater odds for developing hypertension than those with low or moderate scores, and high trait anger scores were associated with a 90 percent increase in the risk of progression to coronary heart disease in prehypertensive men. Moreover, both men and women with high levels of long-term psychological stress had 1.68 times greater odds for developing coronary heart disease than those with low or moderate stress. Pardon me, while I go light up on my balcony, in the privacy of my own home. |

Mac's or pc..
|

Oh my God, for the typical person here's the skinny:
Graphics, video, music, free stuff - Mac Wider range of software applications, lower cost, wider range of peripherials (wihout spending a ton), reliable - PC Gaming? Pick one. Virus susceptibility? Depends on the Anti-Virus/Spyware package I'm an electrical/automation engineer by day, and I DJ every so often, so I have to run both platforms for different reasons. Some applications I wouldn't dare run on a PC, and some applications are non-existent or flat out suck on a MAC. Just the act of setting up a wireless modem on my old MAC a couple of years ago was like pulling teeth (not because of the MAC, because of the limited support at the time). I say decide what you're gonna use it for. If it's just for JSH, porn, Itunes and pointless activites, then MAC. If you plan to actually stretch it's legs and use it for anything serious (web development, business, engineering, etc, MAC). And there are plenty of open-source (free) software packages you can download to replace high dollar items like Photoshop (Gimp), MS OFfice (OpenOffice) etc. You just have to know where to look, or be able to use Google. Define the problem, find the solution. Opinions are great, but you need to know what you plan to do with the machine first. Chances are, regardless of which one you buy, it will get the job done. |

Because without tobacco, the value size McDonalds meals, alcohol, air pollution and every other conceivable cause of (inevitable) death is cancelled out and irrelevant. Give me a break. I'm an engineer who worked in plastics for 12 years. Every rail car of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC - the stuff in your water pipes, kids jungle gyms, ketchup bottles and a host of other things in your house) was stamped with a big @$$ sticker that read:
"WARNING - POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) IS A KNOWN CARCINOGEN" So let's just ban everything that's bad for you. Let's start with TV, newspapers, freedom, opinions and forums that allow the uniformed to express the equivalent of pig vomit without restraint. |

If a poor 20 year-old woman

Happens all the time. Younger girls tend to dig me for some ungodly reason, and they don't know my financial situation off the bat. My best friend is 34, dating a 21 year old, and while I have NO idea what he sees in a woman who's idea of entertainment is MTV, they're happy. He aint rich... My boy 'White Jesus' is 49. Until recently, he regularly dated the 'barely legal' crowd. It's because he's cool as hell, and funny as a drunken monkey. Hell, personally, I don't think women have a functioning brain cell until they reach 30 (or older in some cases) but yeah, realistically, that 'she's with him cause he's rich' usually comes from a hater. Ah yes, what on earth could a younger woman have to offer? hmmm I wonder... probably just sex .... just sayin Nah, you usually have to train them |

And more importantly, I won't ask her to change a thing either. If you're talking about little things I may do to annoy her, sure, I'll be more cognisant of it, but CHANGE my personality? My behaviour? My idiosyncrasies? It's really not worth it. One of the reasons why 'relationships' don't work is because people actually think they can change someone. You can't. If there's something so heinous about me that you can't stand me, in spite of the good qualities, allow me to show you the door. It's hard to miss. It's tall, made of wood, has a handle AND a lock. |

Smoking
|
|
I didn't start smoking until I was 30, living in Europe. I always thought smoking was bad, but I didn't discriminate against smokers. I guess I'm one of those old fashioned idiots they call Americans who believe in personal freedoms.
But the French and Italians smoke like chimneys, and one night I was stressed beyond belief and lit one up. I realized I LIKED it. And so for 3 years, I've smoked occassionally, meaning, whenever the hell I want. I may smoke a whole pack one day, and may not pick one up for two weeks. Or, I may go through a phase where I'll smoke a pack within a week. Whatever. I'm not smoking a pack or more a day, but if I did, I'd offer no apologies. I figure if you don't like people who excercise their rights to engage in the pleasure of their choice, so be it. Good for you. But stop with the judgemental "why do people still smoke" nonsense. I could be wrong, but I'd wager everyone on here got their information on smoking from a commercial, Dateline, or a news story. And of course EVERYTHING you read is true. Bottom line is it's scientifically proven that cigarette smoke can be harmful to you. Just like alcohol, California air, and just about every morsel of processed food that you holier than thou individuals eat. But we've all been programmed to ignore the fact that througout history, people have used tobacco products in moderation and never developed cancer. Hell, in Europe EVERYONE smokes and lives longer lives than Americans. If I date a non smoker, I won't smoke around her, and even when I go out with friends, if they have a problem with it, I'll do it in my own orbit out of consideration. Beyond that, if you don't want to kiss me after I've used the bottle of listerine that I keep in my car at all times, more power to you. I've never had a problem finding or keeping a girl. You actually think on a planet of 6 billion people you're special enough to change one persons opinion, especially when it comes to something they like? I'd call for a reality check. |
