Because without tobacco, the value size McDonalds meals, alcohol, air pollution and every other conceivable cause of (inevitable) death is cancelled out and irrelevant. Give me a break. I'm an engineer who worked in plastics for 12 years. Every rail car of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC - the stuff in your water pipes, kids jungle gyms, ketchup bottles and a host of other things in your house) was stamped with a big @$$ sticker that read:

"WARNING - POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) IS A KNOWN CARCINOGEN"

So let's just ban everything that's bad for you. Let's start with TV, newspapers, freedom, opinions and forums that allow the uniformed to express the equivalent of pig vomit without restraint.

Don't non-smokers understand how the smoker is good for all of society? I mean really, we pay extra taxes every day, usually to the tune of $3-$4. We never get a voice in that, no one sticks up for us and says "hey they pay an unfair amount of taxes." Smoker's usually die before the collect social security or medicare, freeing up that money for all the non-smokers. We didn't picket or burn effagies when they made us all go outside. It's like Dennis Miller once said: "Did anyone notice that once we started making people go outside to smoke, we noticed that there was global warming. I say let them smoke inside, sure the drapes smell like s**t, but we'll still have an ozone layer."

And what may that be Tina? Sex??? Well, be careful, you could get AIDS, Chlamydia, Genital warts, Herpes, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis and Syphilis.
