lol - I've heard that one before soldier, but never used it myself. Glad to hear it works for ya.

Thanks Samantha, that's the kind of response I'm looking for :D - and yah, place and time, who you're with, who they are with, where you're at, etc. all play alot into it. You can't just use a one size fits all approach understandably.

Exactly that - I'm just wondering what methods people use to approach somebody they are interested in, or if they know of any particularly slick methods of asking somebody out.
I'll give an example too - I was working in a retail store and this girl walked up and handed me her phone number. She said she wanted me to give it to a guy working the register I knew named Brian, but to wait till she left. So I waited about 10 minutes, and then went to give him the number. Lol, turns out it was his sister, and that was her shy way of handing me her number. Obviously, that's a bit complex, but I'm interested in hearing any clever ways you guys and gals introduce yourselves, get conversations goin, or ask people out in general. Maybe just an introductory line, or some way to traditionally get a good conversation started. Share your knowledge with me! :P |

phone convo

I can talk on AIM for hours, but phone conversations are generally short and sweet - the first time I sense a silence coming up in the near future, I generally spit out what I need to say and end the call, not abruptly but I wrap it up. Can't stand lulls in conversation on a phone for some reason. Good to hear other people are like that too!

No such thing as predestination.

how much do looks matter

I think they matter to an extent - but personality really matters more. A good personality really shines through, and even the best looking people with bad attitudes quickly get tiring to be around, no matter how good they look.
It's always a factor though, it's just a matter of degrees. |

Email vs. Phone Calls

Try something like AIM as an intermediate step. It lets you talk in real time, but you still have time to think about what you're gonna say before you actually say it, so no awkward pauses in conversation. It works pretty well like that.

My advice man, is to smile. A good smile, and even some bad ones lol, makes somebody look better. Have confidence and be upbeat.

Cool deal, not the best quality but I got some up at least. I'm more into comic book type art and these are a bit old, but at least they give an idea.
