Topic: How do you introduce yourself/ask people out? | |
---|---|
Exactly that - I'm just wondering what methods people use to approach somebody they are interested in, or if they know of any particularly slick methods of asking somebody out.
I'll give an example too - I was working in a retail store and this girl walked up and handed me her phone number. She said she wanted me to give it to a guy working the register I knew named Brian, but to wait till she left. So I waited about 10 minutes, and then went to give him the number. Lol, turns out it was his sister, and that was her shy way of handing me her number. Obviously, that's a bit complex, but I'm interested in hearing any clever ways you guys and gals introduce yourselves, get conversations goin, or ask people out in general. Maybe just an introductory line, or some way to traditionally get a good conversation started. Share your knowledge with me! :P |

No tricks or gimicks here, I just start talking them, smile at all times when talking, let them know what's up.

depends....if i'm out someplace with my girls and i'm all hyped up normally i'll walk over and start a conversation and hope it goes well n then if it does usually i'll give the guy my number....if i'm by myself i usually will be a little more shy and i'll just tend to smile at the person and if they talk to me then i'll usually go for it if they just smile back if i get the courage i'll go strike up a conversation...but for me if you're playing my favorite song and I hear it....I will start a conversation right away lol...

Thanks Samantha, that's the kind of response I'm looking for :D - and yah, place and time, who you're with, who they are with, where you're at, etc. all play alot into it. You can't just use a one size fits all approach understandably.

I usually wait until I've seen someone a few times before I start asking for a number or giving out one.

the music comment got me. i was blasting a favorite
album in my car last summer and a girl chased me down in her SUV to smile and wave at me on the highway. it made my day. but her passenger looked embarrassed and annoyed. |

I'm very shy when I'm around someone I'm attracted to and have yet to start a conversation. I generally don't do anything if I'm with my friends, but if I'm alone, I'll keep glancing at them and then if I catch their gaze I smile and mouth "hi". If he does it back, I generally will start a conversation.
