It would seem the greatest conflict is between loyalty to what is absolutely right -and loyalty to a person, group or subgroup.

Part of what is absolutely right is regard for others, but if we are overly "not wise overmuch", we do others no service.

I would rather another be more loyal to absolute right than to myself.

(what is right is based on the situation -but there is really only one situation)
